Download the Friidump zip file to your desktop.
Open or unzip the Friidump zip file (again to desktop), I use the "7-Zip" program to unzip my zip files because it is free and works excellent on most everything. After unzipping Friidump to your desktop, you now have another file showing on your desktop titled "Friidump.exe."
Delete the Friidump0.4.0 zip file because you do not need it anymore, or at least move it off your desktop.
Put the Wii game you want to copy into your approved Wii coping DVD Drive.
Now you need to get into MS DOS. There are different ways to do this but the way that works best for me is to first left click fast anywhere on your desktop, then hold down the shift key and "right click" anywhere on your desktop with your mouse. You will see a menu box with several options; select "Open Command Window Here". MS DOS will now open as a strange looking black box.
Inside the strange looking MS DOS black box, you should already see the command line, which states your location inside MS DOS. The command line states that currently you are located at your desktop location. The command line should read c:\Users\Your Name\Desktop>
Don't move where your curser is located at inside the black box and type in this command. "friidump –d x: -a" (Without the quotation marks and change the x to the letter which designates the DVD rip drive you use. Also make sure there is a space between friidump and –d, -d and x: and another space between x: and –a, hit enter). You don't need cd in front of your friidump entry (or a space) because you are already at the desktop inside MS DOS and that also happens to be where your Friidump.exe file is located.
Sounds scary if you are not used to seeing the strange black MS DOS box before but after you complete the cycle once correctly, it will all seem so simple.
If you put the Wii game disk inside your approved Wii game coping DVD drive before you opened Friidump through MS DOS, you will see that not only did you successfully open Friidump0.4.0 but that your game disc is automatically being copied. The iso copy is now being ripped and will be placed on your desktop. The title of the iso file will be the same as the Wii game you are copying.
Burn the iso file with ImgBurn the same as Rawdump. The simplest way for me to do this is to first put a Verbatim –R disc inside the DVD drive that you use to burn the game to. Right click on the iso game file on your desktop and select "Burn Using ImgBurn" among the several options listed. If you already have a disc in your burn DVD drive, the Imgburn program will automatically set itself up. Just press start when the arrow turns green. For SSBB most people agree that using Verbatim-R/DL (DL meaning double layer) discs works best but many people use Verbatim +R/DL, only because they are easier to find then the –R/DL kind. ImgBurn will automatically detect that you have a double layer disc in for SSBB and I have always had successful burns letting ImgBurn set its own default layer breaks. I just press go after seeing the green arrow the same as all other game burns and ImgBurn does its job.
If you move your Friidump.exe folder off your desktop to keep it organized, just move it back to the desktop when you have a Wii game you want to copy inside your DVD drive. By having your Friidump.exe folder on your desktop and opening MS DOS by the shift key and a right click on the desktop with the mouse method, the only other thing to enter after opening MS DOS is the friidump –d x: -a command (where you replace x with your designated DVD drive letter) and hit enter. From that point everything is automatic with both Friidump and ImgBurn.

Usually the best luck with Vista is to start RawDump but leave the DVD drive bay open with the disc you want to copy in the open drive bay. You need to first press "start dump" on the RawDump software program, then push the DVD drive bay door closed.
That works best most of the time but I have at times had to change the timings and setup my firewall to except RawDump without questioning its ability to run.
In my opinion Friidump0.4.0 is a better rip tool but as stated by pj2001, it is a bit slower. Before the burn with ImgBurn though, you may want to run the completed game iso through RegionFrii and WiiBrickBlocker regardless of which software program you use to rip. That should reduce the chances of getting your Wii Simi bricked.
Here is a link on youtube that explains the problem with Vista and RawDump a little bit better then my attempt. In my opinion RawDump2.1 has more problems then RawDump2.0. I have not been able to get the double layer button on RawDump 2.1 to work but it's probably something I'm doing wrong. I have never had a reason to try to figure out what the problem is because for me, Friidump0.4.0 does what I want without any problems-ever.
If the link above gets broken, just google; How To Backup Original Nintendo WII Games and follow the youtube link
Friidump download link??
Good tut. Been looking for a good Friidump0.4.0 download link, no success. Any updated links??
Thanks in advance.
