Metroid trilogy, The last story, Super Smash Bros. USB Loader GX wont start

I have all my disc backups working but Metroid Trilogy, The Last Story, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

In channel view of USB Loader Gx It shows the channel animation and when I click on the channel it shows the pregame start animation. But when I hit start with these 3 games it goes to the main Wii system menu.

I tried switching my Ios to 222/223, it says it does in the top right of wiimod but when i exit and go back into it, it says 236

I am still a bit green but so far all my other games have worked.

All three are dual layer discs (I *think*), so that's a common factor that I would definitely look into. That and they're more than 4 GB, so depending on your filesystem that could possibly be an issue.

Have you tried any other loaders?
Did you rip the discs with GX?
Did you follow the Softmod Any Wii guide when you softmodded?
What is the filesystem format of your hard drive? FAT32, NTFS, or WBFS?

I have the same issue with metroid trilogy, and my usb drive is FAT32 format. Should i try a diffrent format?

I dont remember what I ripped it with (ripped it about a year ago). In July my Wii died (lightning strike) and I relaced it and the USB drive. I followed mauifrog's guide Mid august 2012. All my other ripped games work just having problems with this one. And I am sure that Metroid worked on my old setup, and I thought it was FAT32 on that drive as well. I cant confirm since I already formated it to use elseware.

I'm sure Metroid Trilogy and The Last Story are dual layer discs (don't know about Super Smash Bros., though) That means you have to burn them on a DVD+R DL disc. Note the plus signal ("+"), as there is a difference between DVD+R and DVD-R. Also, you have to set the layer break on whatever program you are using to burn the back-ups to 2084960. You can find more info on this on the imgburn forums.

If your HDD is formatted as FAT32, there is a 4GB limit for the file transfer. Since the games we're talking about are more than 4GB, when you rip them to your HDD USBLoader GX splits them in two files so the game can be transfered. Try ripping it again making sure to adjust the settings so the files are split at every 4GB. Although, if I were you, I'd format you HDD to NTFS, since it works great and there is no limit for the files you are going to transfer.
