Angry What am I missing? It's getting personal now

    Hello All:

I've got a WII 4.2U it came with a Wii DVD Optical Drive Logic Board with a D3 chip. I've replaced the board with another with a D2B chip so that I can load backups from the disk channel. Yes, it's kinda old school and I understand that USB is the way to go regardless.

I proceeded to softmod using Mauifrog's guide. All went well. All the backup games can load the games using neogamma without issue. My problem is when I insert a backup game. I can see it in the disk channel; but, when I try to start the games I get an error the message "An error has occurred" blah blah blah.
What am I missing? To the best of my understanding the D3 drives, has limits; but, I'm assuming that would be corrected when I replaced the board with the older D2B chipset, am I wrong? I've read and read, and can't determine if I'm missing an IOS or is it something else. This is the second softmod I've done, my previous one was with an older WII system (3.2U) and it works flawlessly. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Does the screen look like this?

If so, then the fix is easy. There should be some setting in Neogamma to fix error #002.
Awesome sig picture does not work

Simular; but, it's black and no "error 002"
this is from the WII channel screen and not when I launch from neogamma.

Are you referring to Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0_(rev4).zip as a fix?

    Thanks

    Your System Check is fine.
You have to use Neogamma to load back up disc.
They will show up in the Wii Disc Channel, but once you press the button to play it , it will error out.
This is why we have Neogamma.
The only way you are going to be able to play these back ups through the "Wii Disc Channel" is by installing Darkcorp.
I would not recommend doing so.
Just use Neogamma for back up disc.

Thanks for the insight Jax...I guess the limitations is within the actual optical drive itself and not just the logic board, I was hoping that by changing the logic board, drive would respond like a true D2B system, guess not. I have read that some 2009 wii's would have these limitiations...
Regardless, I agree, Darkcorp is not a option considering, Neogamma does work, I was just hoping to simpify things for my Nephew......

    Thanks for all your help!
