Firmware 3.4e !
after a long break from hack wii's i'm doing one for a mate. He's got 3.4e. Am I right in thinking I can still do the twilight hack on this firmware!?!?
I hope so, I've tried looking on the forums with not much luck. Can anyone confirm?
Also, is that anywhere with-in wii hacks to find virtual console games packs for homebrew?
Twilight hack is long since replaced, at 3.4 you can use bannerbomb. Much easier. Check out the links in my signature for a start.
Follow the guide carefully, chances are if you're on 3.4 you'll be able to install bootmii as boot2 == golden parachute against stupidity.

For the OP: I've personally never used BannerBomb or any other method of installing HBC other than Smash Stack, however, now that I look at the Banner Bomb instructions, that appears to be a much easier method. Also, just a word of warning, be very careful when hacking a Wii that is not yours. We see many posts here from people who hacked a friend's Wii and something went wrong, their friend no longer wants the hack, or whatever. It's easy to assume the responsibility when it's your own Wii, however, when it's not, just be careful not to put yourself in a situation that could jeopardize a friendship....

its alright, he's not a friend haha..
no really.. it's cool. He was about to chuck it in the bin before i mentioned getting it homebrewed up for some virtual console classics.
Really, dang. If he was just gonna throw it away, I'd have offered him $5 or a brew for it.... ;-)

hey guys, I've looked at the new homebrew hack, and it's thrown me.
If I'm adding homebrew (with the intention of only then adding virtual console games) Do i really need to do all the chapters on that guide? (as i only thought i needed the bannerbomb aspect) or can i just do part 1 of chapter one? or do i do all 3 parts of chapter 1.. coz it wasnt this complicated last time i hacked a wii..
this seems a bit next level for me, or coz I'm stupid, is there a simpler way? or guide?
