Thread: USB Loader GX Issues (Multiple Games)

    Angry USB Loader GX Issues (Multiple Games)

    I have recently soft modded my 4.3u Wii using this guide on youtube Removed Out Side Link , except I didn't use Smashstack to get the homebrew channel. Instead, I used LetterBomb as I don't own Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This tutorial utilizes Dop-Mii, IOS236 Installer v5, Priiloader, and cIOS38_rev17-Installer, all of which are still on my SD card.

    I followed the guide to the bone, and after installed USB Loader GX 3.0 along with partitioning and reformatting my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500GB HD to the WBFS and FAT32 formats. I used WBFS Manager to install my downloaded game ISO's to my HD. My USB Loader uses IOS 222 to boot.

    I have three games loaded onto my HD; Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Wario Ware Smooth Moves. So far, the only game that works successfully with no issues is Wario Ware. The other two are a different story.

    For Smash Bros., everything loads fine and runs smoothly. I will play single player, choose a character, and play for about 6 stages, where it will freeze while trying to load the next fight. I've tried searching and searching for a fix with no avail. As for Mario Kart, I can select a character and a stage but while it loads it will freeze on a black screen. For both of these issues, I have to turn off the Wii by holding the power button for a couple seconds, and my HD's light will constantly flash.

    Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Bro, I've been recommending this left and right since it made my wii like 10x more efficient. Hit this link since you've already installed the HBC [Homebrew Channel], start from Chapter 1-Installing The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii, under the spoiler "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed". Follow this thing to a "T" and it'll completely update your 4.3u, install all new wads such as, d2x/CIOS and update any other IOS such as: IOS55, and IOS61, as well as many others. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask.
    [Took me approx. 1/2hrs, so your mod shouldn't take too long either]

    ****MAKE SURE!!!! To run the md5 checksum on your pc before installing these wads from ModPack.zip and IOS Update.zip If any of the md5 becomes confusing, I'll run you through that seperately****

    {And just a friendly reminder, check out the newest rev of USB Loader GX (JUST IN CASE) it MIGHT be newer, doesn't hurt to check here.}

    Thanks a lot for this, I'll get started on it now. I'll check back in later to let you know if the games work. Again, I appreciate the help.

    So I've finished reformatting my HD and have installed my games, but I'm unsure on where to go from here. I've updated my USB Loader to the one linked (I used to use the one that booted with IOS222), and moved the WiiMod-58-61_HackMii_1.0.1 files into my SD card, and that's about it. I don't want to mess around with the ModPack and IOS Update files until I know what to do with the md5 checksum... Could you please explain what this is for and how I should go about using it? Thank you very much for all your help.

    Alright...Go to the link at the bottom of my Signature..."Soft Mod Any Wii Guide".
    Start from chapter 2 and follow it all the way through.
    Please read the Guide A Few times , Then Proceed.

    As for the MD5 Checksum.... First you hit the MD5 Checksum.exe program then you will have files that will have an extension of .md5, those are the ones you are going to check with MD5 Checksum.

    You will be Golden once you are done.

    Nevermind, thank you guys so much for the help, I'll let you know how it works out.

    Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to accidentally screw something up; In Chapter 3: The Final Step, it tells me to format my SD card one more time, but that will erase all data. Should I format it?
