Dios Mios 2.2 won't play downloaded Kirby Air Ride (.gcm)
My softmodded Wii has done everything I have asked from it. Except play a game, Kirby Air Ride, that I have downloaded.
I am running...
4.3U System menu
Homebrew Channel (Don't know what version)
USB Loader GX 3.0 r1200 Running from IOS 249
Dios Mios 2.2
Just to be clear, it WILL play the Gamecube games (Need for Speed Underground 2 and Pokemon XD) I have backed up from my collection. I have run Kirby through DiscEx, changed the file extention from .gcm to .iso, everything that has resulted from a Google search.
DiscEx allowed USB Loader GX to see the game and attampt to load it, but it would either freeze at a black screen, show the Dios Mios screen and give me the "Fatal error apploader value is zero" error and freeze, or show Dios Mios screen, briefly flash green on the screen, then freeze on a black screen.
Is there something I'm missing? Please post back!
Thanks in advance!
Do you own the game?
Please Be aware that WiiHacks.com does not support Piracy.
Not yet, but it's not for lack of trying. My local video game shop actually has a waiting list for it, and there are none for sale privately. I just wanted this in the meantime.
I am definately not a pirate. As soon as I find one, I will buy it.
Could be a bad Rip, seeing how you said other GameCube games are working.
I know for certain that game does work ,As I have it on my HDD and it plays with No problems at all.
I wasn't calling you a Pirate, just making sure you are aware of the rules.

Is there any way to burn the .gcm to a DVD-R, then put it on USB with USB Loader GX?
I hope I find one soon... I've had multiple chances to buy it, but there was always something else that caught my eye, and I haven't seen one for a couple of years now. AARGH!
Downloading a different rip now. It appears to be a full 1.35gb iso, where the .gcm was only 0.65gb. I will post back if it works.

What a fiasco. The new download stopped at halfway! So I found a different one. It downloaded after about 6 hours. I open it up, and it was separated into 28 parts. All seemed cool. Then, as I was extracting it, I discover that part 25 was missing, and 27 was damaged!
I am done with trying to download this. This is more trouble and bandwidth than it's worth. I will try to find an official copy, and that's the end of it. Thanks for the help, though!
