    External Hard Drive Partitioning

    I was just wondering-

Is it possible to partition my external HDD and format it WBSF, FAT32, and NTFS, so that I can:
    a. Play backups of my Wii games from my EHDD
    b. Use the EHDD to also store videos, pictures, etc... for use with my PC.

I haven't yet softmodded my Wii, planning on doing it today. I have been reading up on it for the past couple days, and I just needed some clarification.

And, I should probably make a separate thread to ask my next question, but...

Is it possible to play my GameCube games if they get backed up onto an EHDD?

Why not just format it to Fat32?
With Fat32 you can do all the above.

If you want to play Game cube games from the HDD as well.....make sure your partition is 32kb cluster and is active and primary.

The main reason I want to partition and format part of the HDD as NTFS is so that the HDD can hold files bigger than 4gb. Other than a little bit of extra work/time, are there any other downsides to creating an extra partition?

No , there is no down side, you can have it partition to Ntfs and Fat32.
    That's how mines is partitioned.
