Can't connect to the internet after softmodding my wii
First of all, my apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum, but I couldn't for the life of me find a help and questions or similar forum.
Anywho, I just softmodded my wii using the excellent guide provided on this site. Everything was a success! i even ripped and play Super Mario Sunshine from a 2bg Sd Card
But this joyous occasion has been tainted after I discovered I can no longer get my wii online. I first noticed this after I attempted to play Monster Hunter Tri online (using original disc through disc channel). I chose the "City" mode and noticed the animation froze and the progress bar stuck at 10%. Oddly though, the music continued to play, but the buttons on the wiimote did nothing. I can't quite remember, but I think the wiimote might have disconnected.
Now, when I go to the wii's connection settings and test my wireless connection, the connection test just never ends. The wiimote doesn't disconnect or anything though.
*This was my original post which I was about to submit, until I re-checked everything. But now, everything is working oddly.
Has anyone encountered this temporary problem?
p.s. My wii is running 4.1e, downgraded from 4.3e
Thanks for any feedback and info
Hmmm... I never had any internet issues related specifically to any Wii modifications. I did, however, decide to flash my router's firmware with DD-WRT around the same time, so I spent a little time trying to track down which of these changes resulted in no internet on my Wii. Turns out it was the router (as prefaced by the first sentance...lol).
If it's working now, then I'd just suggest chalking it up to intermittent internet issues. Do keep an eye on it though, if you have any problems, feel free to hit us all up. Everybody here is vastly knowledgeable in the field of Wii mods, and a few of us may even be network admins in our day jobs....
Haha sweet. Good to know I'm the presence of vastly superior minds

Good news! I discovered what the "problem" was! I say "problem", it was actually my own stupid fault. You see, I use a windows 7 laptop as a hotspot to share the internet from my usb dongle. I have 2 dongles on the same networks, sometimes when the connection gets funky on one I switch to the other. I had the laptop configured to share the internet on one of my dongles, and after switching to the other dongle I forgot to reconfigure the network settings.
