Strange errors trying to load Mario Kart hack
I've been a drivekey chip user for many years now (near-launch D2B Wii, Wiikey 1.9s). I installed HBC with Twilight Hack and have kept up with "safe" updates over time (Priiloader, 4.3). I've never had a problem loading backups from either the Disc Channel or through GeckoOS, but I've run into a strange problem while experimenting with a CTGP-R custom track hack patched disc of Mario Kart Wii.
If I insert the disc while on the System Menu, I get a "remove disc and reset" error. Loading through GeckoOS freezes the system, while NeoGamma sheds a little more light on the situation as it gives an error "00000000 Open Partition." Strangely, if I start the system up with disc in the drive, it won't even load the system menu and informs me that "the system files are corrupted" (clearly though, they are not).
Syscheck indicates to me that there are no FakeSigned IOS installed (besides 249) so I'm not sure if there might be an issue with a non-FakeSigned IOS 36. I've tried multiple slow burns and the media is fine, as freshly burned un-modified Mario Kart discs work fine. I know there's a way to load the CTGP hack off SD with Riivolution, but I don't have an SD card with enough available space for this.
Anyone have any ideas?

This is a modification of a game that I own. It is a modification that is not intended to be and can not be used to cheat, on or offline. It simply lays in place a structure to support homemade tracks in addition to the architecture that is already there. The CTGP platform operates independently of the existing Mario Kart Wii online system, so there is no possible interference there.
And therein lay my problem. I went ahead and used DOP-Mii 15 to re-fakesign my IOS 36. This still gives the "eject and power off" error on the system menu, but the game is launchable via GeckoOS.
