Question about BootMii as IOS
If this has been discussed somewhere already my apologies, but I honestly cant find an answer anywhere so I have turned to the forums for help. I am following this tutorial for help omg SO fail
In the tutorial the narrator instructs me to never install BootMii as IOS. However, once I get to the appropriate screen, "install BootMii as IOS" is my only option.(Boot2 is no where to be found). Can I install BootMii as IOS? If so, is this risky? and most importantly how great is the chance of bricking my wii? once again, my apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere but I cant seem to find an answer to this and I really dont want to brick my wii from guessing what I should do. Thanks in advance.
Could be using and asking questions about one of our softmod guides. That would actually tend to be logical since obviously what you are following has no support.
You install bootmi as boot2 if it is possible, but tha is usually only the case on older consoles. Otherwise you have no other real choice but to do so as an IOS. Perhaps what you are looking at could use some updating of current info.
I bet if you look around our site, who know, you might even find a current guide that is still supported by members here.
I've looked around for an hour or so and I cant find anything directly relative to my question. My main concern is that I will brick my system if I install it to IOS. How likely is this?
I have done it over 100 times in the past couple of years and it in it of itself has never caused a wii console to brick. There could be other issues or mistakes that could cause it to happen, and having it as boot2 makes it more recoverable from a brick. But to answer your question as directly as possible. Installing it as an IOS should not, is not meant to or the biggest threat to cause this.
how typical. I go to a forum and someone modifies my post saying omg so fail. Are you a third grader? Are there any mature people who would use this forum to help people? I believe thats what forums are intended for.
oddgriffin, thanks again for your reply, one more question, will i lose my virtual console games upon installing as ios?

Your link was removed and jokingly mocked since it was a link to an outside guide that is not supported by this site. Furthermore it is a video that is obviously not supported by anyone, or else you would be asking them, not us.
We also make an effort to protect our other members from seeing and possibl trying a harmful link like this.
Installng it as an IOS is not going to cause you to loose anything that I can possibly conceive of.

For this reason I have to at least post you a link to ours.
