Question [Help] Emu nand on hdd

    Hi all,

This is my first post here and I have a few questions:

I have a softmoded wii and I'll buy a hdd WD Elements 2.5" 1TB 3.0/2.0 (like this: Western Digital WD Elements SE Portable 1 TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive - WDBPCK0010BBK-NESN: Electronics) to put everything related to wii.
I saw on the compatibility list that this hdd works fine, but I also read reports of problems with it in other foruns.
    So, my first question is:

    1. Does anyone have this hdd to work without any problem?

    Next doubts:

I want to leave my real nand "alone" and do everything with an emulated nand on my hdd. Play and save my backups. install and play vc games, install dlc's...

    2. The UsbloaderGX 3.0 does all these tasks or I need more homebrew applications?
    3. I just need to load the GX 3.0 on my hdd to access the emu nand?
    4. I have 50~60 vc games to install on emu nand. The GX 3.0 will show me all or I need another homebrew application to view all vc games?

I hope you can help me.

I just bought that exact same model on Boxing Day. It has no spindown errors and ran Wii games fine. However, it was not compatible with DIOS MIOS (random Wii shut downs during gameplay) so if you plan on playing Gamecube games it won't work.

I also found its loading times slower than other hard drives though this was my first 2.5" drive that I've tested so maybe it's just the 5400 rpm disk speed I'm noticing. Use the page below to find one that works for both GC and Wii games or keep the current one if you only plan on using Wii games.

lol Yeah, didn't notice that until after I posted. Oh well, now if someone searches that particular drive on this website, they'll find an answer.
