I've got some interesting info about USB Loader hanging on 'initialize usb device'

So, I softmodded with MauiFrog's guide about a month ago. All the loaders it came with did not function properly (they didn't load at all, really...freeze at startup)... USB Loader GX was the one I spent the most time trying to get working. It was freezing upon "Initializing USB device'. I found that if I ran MMM first, then loaded USB Loader GX, it would work about 75% of the time. After much more looking into the matter, I tryed everything I could find (plugging/powering HDD after loading, setting USB loader to run iOS 222, 250, enabling and disabling wii conect 24, turning on and off Autoinit Network, etc), Today, I found that If I load into Priiloader (holding reset) then exit to sys menu, and run USB Loader, it works with 100% success...

    Any idea why this happens???

    Here's a syscheck:

I think this might be a drive compatibility issue with the d2x v8 cIOS. To test this you could install d2x v9 beta(r49), base 56, into slot 249 (this new cios has fixed a lot of compatibility issues). I have recently installed these betas and have not encountered any issues as of yet. If it doesn't work, you can easily go back to v8.

Working great with the Beta ;-) Thanks!

Hey, just wanted to put in my experience as well. I had a 1TB toshiba 2.5" drive that would hang on USB Loader GX at Initialize USB Device. Installing "cIOS249[56]-d2x-v9-beta(r49).wad" finally solved this problem, after hours of stumbling. I was about to throw in the towel and buy a new drive, chalking it up to incompatibility with usb loaders. Thank you so much!
