    Smile Newbie to Nintendo Systems

Hey guys. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Nintendo related products. Especially, modding and such. I just recently bought a Nintendo Wii system and haven't the slightest clue what to do and how to do it. Where do I even begin? I wanted to be able to softmod my Wii so that it can play backup Wii and backup Gamecube games through burned DVDs an and external hard drive. I looked around the site and I've seen things such as loaders and I'm completely lost as to how to make them work. The things I know currently about my system are that, the OS is 4.3U and it's backwards compatible seeing as how it has Gamecube controllers and memory card slots on top. I've downloaded some channels to it. Other then that, nothing. If you all could help me begin this process from scratch, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much.

Thank you for the reply, BluPhant. I read all the material thoroughly. I've been following "Guide: Softmod ANY Wii". I downloaded LetterBomb after I entered my Wii's MAC address and selecting the correct region. I formatted the SD card to FAT32. I copied all the files to the root of the SD card and inserted it into the Wii. I then launched the installer through the red envelope. I installed HackMii. I've basically done everything up to part 3 in chapter 1 of the guide. Now, it said load HBC, I did that. It said press Home, I did that also. Then, it said launch BootMii. I did that. All I got was a blank screen and a blue led flashing light where you insert the game on the Wii. It said press Power three times and Reset 2 times. I did that also, it's still showing me the blank screen and flashing light. What's wrong here?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am not using a Gamecube controller. I am using the Wii Remote.

Edit 2: Maybe I did something wrong along this step: "Install Bootmii as Boot2(boot2 may not be available, IOS installs automatically)". I did not see any option to install it as a boot2. I saw only install and uninstall as IOS options.

Edit 3: I have the Wii on currently, exactly in the way I described and I'm confused as to what to do now. I'll post a message in the actual guide regarding this also.

Just follow the guide! I hack my wii last night using the same guide thats on bluphant sig! As for the boot2, it should be in there after you install the homebrew channel. I have 4.3u just like you so it should be the same! As soon as you launch the letterbomb it should take you to a screen that says homebrew and bootmii and install those before launchin bootmii!
