    Problems with 480p

Hi everyone. I hope someone can help me with my problem. Today I was playing The VC Super Mario World on my Wii and noticed it was flickering. I thought that maybe since I'd connected my component cables I'd have to switch the output to 480p, but when I changed the setting I got a black screen. I tried switching the cables to the 2nd component channel to see if that would work, but no go. Do you think this is a homebrew and/or hack issue? Is there anyway I can solve this? I even tried connecting my composite cables and trying that. Nothing. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Yeah it worked fine with the composite cables. I'm not sure if after connecting the component cables all my VC games would have the same problem, since I only got to play SMW.

    Try this...

Fix for problems with various Virtual Console games being played over component cable on HDTVs.
You need to switch into a special "Component cable interlace mode" on the Wii. The mode can be enabled by accessing the operations guide of the game, and (with the Nunchuk attached) pressing the buttons Z + A + 2 simultaneously. A sound is played if the mode is enabled correctly.
Now the VC game will play normally.

Several older games also have updates available to enable the feature, such as Super Castlevania IV. The mode can be disabled by using the same method, but with the button combination Z + A + 1 instead
