Brontak from this site?
Hello everyone. Thanks for the help received in the past. Around the time I stumbled on this site while attempting to soft mod a familys wii. I got the windows security 2012 virus. The same day I visited this site I had visited several so no clue where that came from. Also that day I picked up a Brontak virus. After reformatting just my C. I still had the Brontak. So I wiped the both drives and have not had any issues. Using the latest Bitdefender currently for the last going on 3 months.
Today I soft modded a family members wii for them using this sites guide (thanks to everyone that put that together) Bitdefender detected a Brontak on the SD card which was plugged into my printer.
I removed the SD card. Scanned the whole computer-found nothing.
Wii functions just fine (well havent tried many games yet)
Should I be concerned ? I followed everything step by step and used no other sources then what was provided. Please do not take this as complaining. I know sometimes "hacked" programs can be flagged with internet security programs at times but I wanted to check up with everyone. Thanks in advance.

There are definitely no viruses in any of the files in the ANY Wii guide. What did you put on your sd card when that virus popped up?
Thanks for the fast reply. I have not attempted to see if it is still there since everything is working fine. It was while performing step 2 or "chapter 2" CIOS-PACK-V6.zip
I went through everything step by step starting from already having homebrew etc. What i find strange is the fact that I have scanned all the contents, zipped, and got nothing. If I get brave I will attempt to unzip them and scan. If someone has a safer suggestion I am open for one. Thanks for all your help. Thanks to all the information helping people keep from getting ripped off like I was originally.

Thousands of others have used these without issue. Just to put your worries at ease I just scanned both with the latest versions of Avast and Malwarebytes and they are clean. FYI the Brontok virus is activated thru a windows executable file. The only exe file in either pack is md5summer, which has been run by thousands and confirmed clean. Sounds like you were already infected prior to the download, or your antivirus is reporting a false positive.
yeah I will go with the false positive or that card needs formatted. Although I thought I did at the start.
