    Question Disc Drive Version

    Hi
I am unable to use my wii to run DVDs or play from backup DVDs using Neogamma (It states the drive date as 20080714), so I started to search whether there is a hardware solution but before that I guess I need to make sure that which chipset my wii has. Other than the date given by Neogamma is there a way to find out chipset without opening wii or is it even possible to do so using the date? I am not even sure whther any chipmod solves my issue, is there any?
Sorry if I am repeating, I tried search but forum search always mentioned that my search terms were too common.

    Thank you.

Read my newbies post (in my signature) for details about how to lookup your wii & determine probable drive chipset.

Having said that, discs stink. Get a USB HD.

Thank you for your quick response.
Also thank you for your suggestion, I already have a USB HDD and even a DVD player, my goal was to saving from the space.
    Thanks again,
