just confirmed that the iso dumper does in deed work and will dump wii games to either the sd card (will dump 2 2gig and 1 smaller file)
or your pc at alittle bit over 500kbs,however i dont know how much strain it will put on the wii's laser, but the 500kbs is nice seeing that a torrent normally only downloads between 18 to 50 kbs for me,total time of a wifi dump is alittle over 2hrs.
I did a wifi dump to my pc of Mario Kart Wii, thats a double layer disc game I believe (the file ended up being about 7.9GB), and it took like 7 hours including the first attemp which got hung up and failed out. The process was cool and easy but I probably wouldn't do it again tho, that was like 7 straight hours of spinning the disc and using the lazer eye, as compared to when your just playing a game and data is cached to the RAM to reduce that kind of wear and tear.
Mario Kart is a DVD-5. I'm guessing the laser must have started skipping along the way, thus the 7 hour read time.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of WiFi dumping. It's a nasty strain on your Wii.
When using an LG GDR-8162B, a Wii dump will take about 2 hours and 15 minutes. That's pacing at about 2,200KB per hour.
Dump & Burn discs | 3.3 / 3.4 Firmware FYI | Wii Disassemble | WiiClip Install
Wii - 4.1U - WiiKey 2 - USBLoader GX - SNES9X GX, Genesis Plus GX, FCE GX w. cover flow mods

If Mario Kart Wii is a DVD-5 then how did the file I ripped end up being 7.9GB?
you didnt dump it correctly, and what E3 said is true
from what i read the only duel layer wii game is SSBB i could be wrong but thats what ive seen so far.
I had the backup launcher working but i couldnt get wifi dumping to work so i updated to cios to 249 and the wifi dumper works now but none of the backups i had working before work now. Ive tried to change the cios several different ways but all of them keep giving me errors. Can anyone clue me in to what i might be doing wrong or point me in the right direction.
Does anyone use wifi dumper anymore apart from you? Get yourself a USB Loader and forget about the painfully slow transmission speed.
Oh and by the way this thread is 7 months old, which is decades in Wii years.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
