Will "Wii Sports Resort" original game ask for updates etc?

Hi all,

I have acquired an original game of "Wii Sports Resort" with motion controller, but thought I'd better ask for advice first before trying to play.

I have a 4.2e version wii which I have softmodded using Messie's excellent guide. I have cios38rev14 installed and use Neogamma r7 to play my backup games. I also have startpatch installed with 'block updates' activated.

The questions I need to know are:
1) If I play this disc fom the disc channel, will I be required to update? And if this is the case, is it safe to do so?

2) Do I load this game with NeoGamma r7? And if so, will startpatch block any updates it may require?

Sorry if this sounds a really silly question and I apologise again if this has been asked before but I have searched this site and can't find the answer.

Put the game in.
It shouldn't require an update, but if it does, it will prompt you by showing it needs an update in the disc channel.

You have to be proactive in accepting a system update.

if you run it from any loader (neogamma for example) then the update will be blocked.

If you want to maually block the update, then you will need to install whichever IOS the game requires, once its installed, it will not ask you to update.

Thank you both. I took the plunge and tried it from the disc channel and no update was required, lol.
I must say, it's an awesome game!!

Even with you having startpatch installed and having it set up to block/bypass disc updates, it wont prompt you to update if you try an original game using the disc channel anyways. I know with starfall if I was to try a game through the disc channel that had a update on it, I would end up with a black screen, thus I would have to load that game through a backup loader. But yea davepm hit the nail on the head once again. As long as you have the ios installed thats needed to play that specific game, you wont be prompt for an update anyways. Just need to make sure its the correct version of that ios (not an outdated one) or else it will ask you to update.
