I'm pretty sure I don't have preloaded installed, and I Don't have any modships. I never updated to 4.3 because I just used Gecko to load the disc
Oh, I'm a derp. :P
No, it only blinks once.
I'm assuming you mean where the power button is? It doesn't blink when I boot.
Nothing, I extracted the Hackmii onto my SD card and the same thing happens when I boot (Warning with no "Press A"). I'm assuming that means Boot2 isn't installed.
I'm not so sure about prooloader but I think boot2 is.
The Wiimote only comes on player 1 when I take Savemii out, (and the warning screen comes up with no "Press A")
I can, but the strange thing is that the Wiimote won't turn on to Player 1 despite how it turns on the console.
Nope, didn't boot.
So, I have the Wii's shell taken off, and looked at the DVD drive while I turned it on. It makes squeaky noise when it tries to read the game, so I'm assuming the motor is broken.
Yes, that is correct. I restarted the system when I switched to the channel, and the Wii wouldn't read the game after that. I tried different discs too.
After that the system would freeze when it...
Before my Wii was "bricked", the system wouldn't read a disc before the menu began to freeze. I think I damaged the disk drive because I accidentally had it running on Skyward for a few days without...
Thankfully I have skyward sword!
But, I have another weird problem. The disk drive isn't functioning properly. It won't spin the disk to read it.
I'm not exactly sure what recent autoboot discs there are for any newer Wii updates. I ran my SaveMii and the current version it shows on the black screen I have is 4.2.
Any suggestions?
I'll attempt to un-brick it via the guide. Hopefully I don't fully brick it trying.
Nothing happens. When the H&S screen appears, the Press A button never appears so it leaves me to believe that the screen is frozen or locked.
If that's the case then the Wii is theoretically half bricked I'm assuming. It should be able to be unbricked I'm hoping?
YEah I figured as much. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the problem is, though. If something were fried, it wouldn't even come up to the warning screen right?
Also, if I take it to Nintendo wouldn't they delete everything anyway?
The black screen/Warning Sign screen is what happened before I took apart the Wii. If WiiConnect24 is overheated could that keep it from booting past the warning screen? And thank you for the shop...
I made a topic awhile back about taking apart my Wii but I went ahead and put it back together thinking it may not actually be overheated.
Basically awhile ago I left my Wii on as well as my...
Cool. What I'm wanting to do is to keep my save files on the Wii system memory, is that possible at all though?
My Wii recently was possibly overheated by sitting next to my xbox for too long while it was also running (whoops!). It would turn on normal, but wouldn't run games. Eventually it wouldn't go past...
