this is what i done......
opened wii scrubber loaded the iso located the main.dol in partition 1 right click and extract...
ppf patcher is the ppf o matic
folder name is ........ NSMB wii ppf-o-matic

open wii scrubber, load your iso, then extracted the Main.dol file from partition 1 to the desktop .

only thing to be certain about the game disc that make sure its for your region ie. ntsc or pal

the only other thing to try is doing them at various speeds
all i know is that its how the wii game discs are read compared to your standard dvd's hence there being only 5 LG GDR drives which can read the data
most likely the disc quality, i use verbatim dvd-r and ive never had a problem
Try ImgBurn MODE READ then to burn MODE WRITE (It is freeware)

as far as i led to believe any drive can copy backup discs but i could be wrong have you tried searching for your answer
