cIOSCORP is a mare and if you look around these forums, you'll find lots of issues arising from having it - I know from recent experience.

When powering off the Wii when its 'stuck' you need to hold the power button down for about 5 seconds - saves unplugging it everytime.

Lol. cIOSCORP was the start of all my issues - I found that quite early on but only after reading some tutorial on modding the Wii and the supposed benefits of it, using it and then trawling the web...

I would have done this earlier only I put Tiger Woods 2010 in the Wii and then suddenly time transported me forward several hours......:eek:

I load to bootmii, select retore NAND and then it asks for the SD card. I insert the SD card and then press reset to continue, then it goes to what looks like the restore...

I had a 4.2 wii in Japanese, managed to get Dop-ios to work and tried to change the language etc.
I rebooted the wii and had system menu 3.2J and when I tried...

The only .elf/.dol that will work is the hackmii installer one - all the other fail to show up anything in channels and I don't get an install popup at all.

I managed to get Dop-ios to run once...

That gives me a private folder and a boot.elf (410kb) on my SD card.
When I install the SD card under data management>Wii>SD everything freezes.

This is with the private folder - if I rename...

When trying to run the installer on a 4.2J I get the message:

My wii was prviously 3.4E and then 2.0J (long story) - any ideas?

Bad news unfortunately......

The 4.2 hacking guide fails to load and gives the menu - this installer can NOT continue. :(

Looking good so far - I'm now on 4.2J after finally getting the Wii to connect to the network.
Now I'll go through the guide for 4.2 and see what happens.

I was on a low 3.X wersion initially and soft modded to 4.1 before things started going south and downgraded to 2.0J (although the J was NEVER specified in any of the files or readme's :()

After a softmod that didn't work all that well (out of about 6 back ups, only Mario Kart worked), I began restoring to a vanilla Wii and downgraded too far to 2.0.

A message came up informing me...
