no your chip isnt affected by the softmod in any way. i have softmodded 4.2e and a wiikey2 in my setup.

i always use Wii Backup Manager to remove updates and convert to WBFS (i use).

yes, you can if your hdd is fat or ntfs you can use partition magic 8 to resize and move partition on your disk

but is your hdd formated wbfs its not possible..
