If that does not help, try to reinstall the shop channel again. If that does not help, do chapter 2, part 2 and part 3 of this guide. Let me know how it turns out.
Shouldn't he install the latest version of IOS35? MMM v13.2 installs old versions.

    It should not matter.

just finished re doing chapter 2. chapter 3 shouldn't matter should it? I even did the downgrade hoping that might help. no such luck. The system still reboots every time i click start on any channel. how can i get boot2 installed if possible so i can do the nand restore? i did do a complete system backup and since the system was pulled out of the box and i hacked it immediately i had 0 bad sectors.

You would have installed bootmii boot2 during chapter 1, you probably could only install it as an ios. Download Dop-mii and load it from the Homebrew channel. Try to reinstall the shop channel with dop-mii.

That is possible, but I doubt it will happen.

well i did install boot2 but as an ios.. it seems you can't do a recovery from the ios version of boot2. you can only do a backup... so it makes it seem completely pointless. I keep going into bootmii and trying to do the restore and gives that message saying boot2 is installed as ios and that it isn't safe but you can continue if you want. i say continue and it says try harder hashimoto-san.

Mauifrog knows a lot more about this than I do, but I have done a little searching and I think that the problem is you don't have a required IOS installed. Could you run a Syscheck and post it?

    Edit:

You are mixing up a few terms here. Bootmii is the name of the program, and it can be installed as IOS or as boot2. Bootmii as boot2 is the preferred one, since is the most brick resistant, but only consoles built before mid-2008 can install it. Bootmii as IOS (which you have) can easily be removed, but it can be installed on any console.

Unfortunately, restoring a backup with Bootmii as IOS is risky, and therefore is not recommended. I have read reports of it restoring successfully, but I have also heard of it bricking Wii's. I would advise against restoring your backup unless someone like mauifrog tells you to.

I don't really recommend you try to restore your nand backup. As bootmii said, it is not safe. You can try to uninstall/reinstall the shop channel with dop-mii. You can try to backup your savegames and do a system format from wii settings

hopefully this will shed more light on the problem.

mauifrog I will try the dop-mii fix but i will not system format. when the wii freaked out last time i didn't even have access to any homebrew stuff and I was screwed. couldn't load anything beyond system menu.
