it says lego star wars game. Is that any lego star wars game because I believe that there are 3 of them. Do you use part 1, 2 or 3?
I have made backups of all my Gamecube games using Clean Rip which I found in another tutorial, but could the alternate disc loader you had us install in this guide function as a Gamecube Backup Loader too?
If not, then can you tell me if installing a MIOS or cMIOS will do anything to mess up what you have covered in this guide? I'm certainly not averse to installing new things on my wii since I'm one of the lucky ones with boot2 Bootmii installed, but even so, it's nice that you're guide has finally helped me tie up all the loose ends (my Wii was VERY slutty). :P
Here is the Gamecube guide for reference:
ok im stuck and im ready to throw the wii in the bin... its getting that bad at trying and failing lol
ive softmodded my wii with this guide which i found pritty well written and very comfortable to follow, my problem lies with what to do after... i have got a 500GB seagate desktop HDD which ive checked and its on the compatibility list, im stuck as to doing a fat32 partition... ive created it and everything and also done the wbfs partition which i formated with wbfs manager 2.5. im running windows 7 and i just cant seem to get it all to come together. windows says i have to format the fat32 partition in able to use it which i formated it in cmd to a fat32 that took 6 hours to do :/ ... i have got superkarts iso which has been scrubbed and i cannot get it or any of it to fall into place and work... can any one help?
ive done the softmod, got configurable usb loader on there, now im stuck.
many thanks guys, sorry if this isnt in the write section i thought it would be best to put it here as its the guide i followed. also with the icos... i havent got a clue and it all confuses me but in wanting to get it to work :-)

Thanks a bunch! was able to update my wii to 4.1u by following directions to the letter! No issues whatsoever! Great write up.
after that make a folder on the root of the drive named "wbfs"
that would be lowercase and without the quotes. you can put any wii game in .wbfs format in this folder as long as it is not more than 4gb. Also, it should be named the six digit code that corresponds to the game (ex. RHAE64, just made that up, find the real code). Alternatively, since you SHOULD still have the original disc in the first place, hook up your hdd to the outermost port on your wii, load cfgusbloader from the wii menu, insert the disc, and press + then follow on screen instructions. it will install any disc from the disc drive to your hdd, automating your process and eliminating most of the computer work. :P
Hope I helped, happy gaming.

Just popping in to say thanks mauifrog. After spending about a week researching how to softmod my Wii I was about to give up, but then I found your guide. After that it was a piece of cake. You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.
