    bootmii black screen

    Awesome guide mauifrog.

I have just one problem. Bootmii won't load from HBC. I've followed all your instructions to the best of my knowledge. When I try to do this it goes to a black screen and the slot lights up and flashes. I have 4.3e and used the smash bros exploit.

Forgive me if I don't understand this fully, but do I need to have anything specific on my SD card? As it is all I have is the app pack mentioned in the last chapter (and USB Loader GX). Is there something that I should have kept from step 2 (before formatting and extractn the apppack?) Should bootmii be loading before the wii system menu?

Back up, format, put bootmii in it AND all the app files?

Also what are the bootmii files I need on my sd card? I think I have SD:/bootmii/ with the following files:
    armboot.bin
    bootmii.ini
    ppcboot.elf

Is this right and do I need a file in the root of the SD card as well?

What do you mean by "try again"? download it again? extract it again? How can i fix this?
Try again means try again, what ever you like. Download it again, extract it again, I don't know but the md5 needs to pass or something is not quite right.

Hi Mauifrog, I've tried your Softmod any wii method on my white wii 4.3e and it worked perfectly I can load and play any of my games from the HDD but I lost the home screen which is fine I don't mind that, I'm trying the same method on a black wii 4.3e and when it gets to the loading game screen it just freezes with the now loading screen on, I'm using the yo-gi-oh game. is there any advise you could maybe give me??

All the latest cios' are included in the guide.

Just choose a different cios with a different base ios to load the game with in usb loader.

Black ops uses a cios with base ios 57 so use cios 250.....

    1. Do I need have bootmii on my sd card all the time for brick protection?
Answer: No. since you made the back-up "NAND" and already done with the process, just insert your SD Card to your computer and there in the root of your SD Card you'll need to back up 1 folder that's called "bootmii" (SD:/bootmii) and 2 files "nand.bin" and "key.bin" (SD:/nand.bin) (SD:/key.bin) back-up those 3 in your computer.

    2. What does my sd card directory need to look like to get bootmii back working again?
Answer: Just copy the bootmii folder in the root of your SD Card again (SD:/bootmii) launch your homebrew channel, press home and click/select bootmii
