    Re-modding

Hello and thank you for all this information!

A couple weeks ago I had decided to mod my 4.3u wii to get usb loading working. I compiled a list of tasks based on various resource on the net, got configurable usb loader and mplayer+usb2.0 working and all seems well. I used Smash Bros. I had become more interested in wii hacks in general and found this guide.

After reading this guide, I realized the tasks i performed didnt include things like a NAND backup and an error somewhere in early on software installs may have occurred once or twice.

Now that I am much more familiar with the process and concepts, id like to re-softmod my wii using this guide to cleanup anything that may have been done wrong and so on. Just get a fresh state so to say. So my question is, based on that info, does anybody see any problems with re-modding using this guide on my already modded wii?

    Thanks for any pointers!

Ok, I fixed that, but now I get the games in black and white, and when I try to force the region, I start the game, but after the GC logo sign, a green screen appears for a little time, and the I only get a black screen until I reboot my wii

    Any idea?

2.On chapter 1, PART 1 If i use indiana jone , should there be a link of SAVE DATA for that game?

3.On Chapter 1, PART 2, After i installed Bootmii, then Prepare the SD-card <---What is this mean? Remove the SDcard? and reformat it? What data should I put into it?

4.On Chapter 1, PART3, Do i have to exit the installer and load Homebrew channel? If i have internet connection available, should i connect it then it can automatic Make A NAND Backup? Is MMM-xyzzy_CB2.zip needed ( I am confuse btw PART2 and PART3)

5.Is Make A NAND Backup an option(show on the screen) by "Load HBC, press -HOME-, launch Bootmii"

    6. Have 350 free blocks of nand space? What is this mean?

    7. Before Chapter2, Do i have to reboot my wii after installed Homebrew Channel and bootmii.

PLEASE HELP Me with these questions, and i hope these can help others too.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I am curious how you have come along or if you have even?
there are either people that "get it" or that dont,
I am one who doesnt, there are different ways of learning, "this is the easiest guide out" doesnt stand for my opinion, like i said, you get it or dont, and if you dont, seems like you are screwed.

    Hello everyone,

I am one of the inexperience non advanced "trying to soft mod" my wii users. i am the type that likes to learn and try to do things on my own, however, with having no clue and the guide not really being "for dummies" does anyone have any information on where to get a "for dummy" version, or if anyone would be willing to do it for a small fee?
    it doesnt hurt to ask.
    thanks in advance,

I am very new to this too but honest the guide is for dummies... wii dummies like me, in fact out of all the guides I have read this is by far the most solid and easy to follow. Mauifrog has laid it down in a easy to understand way, just read the lines of text again and again slowly maybe at night nice and quiet, and you'll get there, I hacked my Wii 4.3 last night in under an hour but that was through reading nice and slow, I am new here but I will try and help while it is all fresh in my head, bar a couple of niggles I have hacked the hell out of it with the help of this guide.

wow, well thank you echo for responding, i cant believe this IS considered for dummies. i didnt think i was that dumb i like to do things step by step, and i read someone reply to one person that they wont"spoonfeed" information... that was understandable but also sad.

for newbies like me, i started on this one day, and was at it for 4 hours, just trying to figure out the darn sd card thing, so i typed it in youtube, and got it done in 15 sec. lol. i couldnt believe it was that easy. i like to read and follow, so i suppose since i dont understand i would be a spoonfed person. when you say easy to understand, i look for everythign to be there. i didnt even know i needed a game. i figured the link WAS the game.

i am NOT downing maui at all it is a success story for many, and that rocks i will gladly sit on my butt and try to hack it out myself, but they say not to power it off, lol so i could be stuck for a while on a step waiting for a reply..... will that hurt anything having the wii just sit on, on wherever i am sitting at. lol

In all fairness I didnt mean it literally as a guide for dummies, I just meant that I am a wii hacking noob and it was better than I thought, baring in mind I read the guide upwards of 50 times in full before I attempted it lol, anyways have a good go at it and there are some really cool folk on here who I am sure will help you out, honest it is not that bad, I nearly had a pulmonary embolism when I downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1 but alas it was all well and good, winrar is your friend too, basically just right click and extract straight too the sd card in most cases.
