thanks hyperkamote, thanks for the advise. I had already selected the prepare a sd card option, before I exited hackmii and it worked well, also I read a post where narse1979 told someone to go back into hackmii and prepare the sd card from there.

Ok that aside, I am actually now up to chapter 2 and my file structure on my sd card is a little different to the one in the guide. I have 2 extra files in the root of my sd card, which are Shopping Channel-NUS-v20.md5 & md5summer.exe. I extracted the files exactly as described and I'm not sure why these files aren't in the file structure shown on the guide. I know that I have to run md5summer.exe on my pc, but dont know if I should I leave it in the sd card or cut&paste it to my PC. Also with the shopping channel ""Shopping Channel-NUS-v20.md5"" which is in the root of my sd card, should I delete it because its not in the file structure in the guide or is it not displayed in the file structure because its optional. its got me stuck so I want to confirm this first because I cant lose power once I start chapter 2.

    thanks

it's ok if it's there don't delete them and run the md5summer.exe on your SD and not outside of your SD... The Channel-NUS-v20.md5, CIOS-PACK-v3.md5, and ModPack-NTSC-U.md5 is just the extension sums of all the files you've extracted on your SD card and when you run the md5summer.exe and choose one of the the 3 .md5 files on your SD card.. the md5summer.exe checks the file structure you've extracted if it is Error Free so you don't mess up your wii for installing bad CIOS or WAD... If you look at the bottom left of the program (md5summer.exe) under the Key box it should say right there Error (0 so far)...

    Hi guys!

I managed to install everything till the final chapter. In chapter 3 I need to copy the apps into the sd card.

But I just transfered my games to an usb key, do i need to copy those app files to my usb key to? Or do I need to insert the sd card into my wii permanently?

    Thanks,

    Alex

If you have a fat32 formatted drive then you can transfer the folder/file structure straight over to the usb device as it is.
You may need to set in HB to load apps from the usb by pressing 1 in the HB Channel and selecting it in the options.

If you want to save space on the usb device for games then I would just use a sd card for apps and game covers etc..

So it is possible to put the apps and covers in the SD card and the games in the usb device, and use the cfg usbloader to load games from the usb key?

I just realized that my wii is now back on 4.1e after completing this guide, previously I was 4.2e and had hacked my wii following i think it was messie's guide. Can someone tell me if this is a bad thing or a good thing lol.

    Thanks

A wii from 2007 can be considered an old wii?
