    Thumbs up MauiFrog.

    Thank you.

Took 5 hours, 4 1/2 screwing around with other guides, there is no better.

    Kudos.

ok sorry all for my rather clueless previous post... no for one that may be just as dumb. when i backup NAND am i backing it up to my sd card? and when it says to format the card after that why is that? I am rather nervous with this whole process just because I rarely have good luck with software and tend to rely on my brother for that. once again thanks in advance.

put some logic structure in it, yes backup your nand to sd card, go to you pc and of course copy the backup to your pc, before formatting it again. just the step to prepare the card
    before proceeding.
good luck and don't be nervous

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

Do you have a new Wii? If so it won't read burned media of any kind. Go with USB Loading.
    Damn I suck!!!!

The reason to format SD card is to utilise the same SD card for further steps instead of buying a new one and keeping the old one as backup. Rather you can copy all the files which are back up of NAND to your computer hard disk and in case it is required, you can copy it back to the SD card. Remember that the backup files are to preserved to use it when it is really required.

    Hope this is clear
