There are a few fixes you can do if AHBPROT is the issue.
    -Enable a network connection
-Disable AHBPROT by removing the "No IOS reload" from the meta.xml, this would also remove usb2 support from the app
-Load the app without using the HBC, from a forwarder, perhaps priiloader, perhaps some other HBC alternative.

If you don't think AHBPROT is the issue try to format the sd card and download the apps again.

you sir are a star high fiveeeeeeeeeeee lol

I did all the moding at my house with a wifi connection, i then went over to my bros and disabled wifi as i didn't want him going online (updating and all that, have got priloader but you never know.. extra care)

I tryed like for 2-3 hours to get the wii to error at my house, as he said he was having problems but with no luck!

i then started to think the only thing different at his place is his tv (maybe the wii didnt like the hrtz of his tv or something, scart, component blah blah blah) or that he's using a wireless sensor bar powered through usb. Can any of that cause it to do that mem dump??

I tried all the homebrew on a sd card, usb flash stick and usb hard drive 250gb but still he gets this. Also downloaded everything again.

The only apps iv given him, as i dont want him to f up anything are

    FCE Ultra GX

    Genesis Plus

    Snes9x GX

    Visual Boy Advance GX

    WiiMC

I didnt use forwarders as i read somewhere that they stop working with updates or something like that and that they take up nand memory, but if that will fix it i will try it, and let you know.

One other wired thing was though the apps dont crash all the time only random dumps! sometime they work just fine.....

I know of forwarders for like 2-3 (snes, fce ultra gx, and visual boy) of these apps any ides of the rest??

Thanks again, your a big help. i should have asked in here days ago, could have saved a lot of time with your knowledge.

p.s updated my post with a pitcher of the dump error.

    Hi thanks,

I was using the loader to see if I'd have better luck than the Wii loader (thought it wouldn't play because it partially bricked my system after the update and im not sure whether the WiiKey was detected, or the Softmod, or both.)

I'll try taking it apart and cleaning the lens, maybe unsoldering the wiikey as well. Thanks!

    hi mauifrog

i had a look at the meta.xml of those apps i said, and yes they all say "No IOS reload"

im having trouble finding forwarders for all the 5 apps i said, can only find channels and nothing for gen plus! (are channels ok to use to fix this, even though i wouldn't want to as they use to much nand, just wondering) so i wanted to know, you said if i remove that line of code i would loose usb 2, will it revert back to usb 1.1 or are you saying without that code it wont work on usb??
aslo i noticed the meta.xml for USBloader dose not have that line of code, dose this mean USBloader dose not usb 2? (just wondering, as dont have a problem with USBloader but then again i am using that through the forwarder you gave)

Thank God for the above tip! I took apart the Wii, desoldered the wiikey, and the cleaned the lenses with an eyeglasses cloth. Now it's working! Woot woot! Just in time for the grad party~~

Usbloaders run on cios, so they have usb2. Simplest solution would be to put the wii online and block updates with priiloader. If you installed 4.1 from this guide the SM can not be updated, but an update would remove cios249. There is an alternative homebrew loader that will load ahbprot apps with the issue but I can't recall the name.
    Ipsa scientia potestas est.

hi again, i can confirm that is indeed the cause of the problem, i tryed some homebrew apps on my wii with the net off i got the same errors. what your saying is a good fix but the problem is, as the wii gets moved around all the time its in place with no internet or even bad wifi signal!! so i dont want my bro to be stuck with not being able to load homebrew because he hasn't got a good signal or no internet. as i cant find any new up-to-date forwarders, tried looking at guides to make some...... lol no luck thats a task and a half! any guide you can recommend for forwarders or do you have any by any chance? or can you think of anyother tip that could help me out with this problem?? also you may want to put a not in your guide, without a internet connection the hombrew will memory dump because of the AHBPROT error, may help a few people. helped me, as if it wasn't for your info i may still be scratching my head to what was going wrong. thanks again.

when it says format sd card.. is that telling me to do it right then, or is it telling me that is what will happen? lol

    do i have to use a 1-2g card? i have many 4g's.

    PART I
i have 4.3u version, there were 6 different ways to get the hackmii installer. they arent games are they? i see where i have to play it for a while or something....

example, says for one of them i need the wheelie breaker game and to download it..... download it where my computer? or put on the sd card thing? and then says extract to sd:
is that where it is on the computer and i put it on the sd card?

    and what is mirror?

phew... wow, please bare with me. thanks
another thing i would like to ask is this... do i have to do everything at one time? or can i do chapter 1 on one day, and chapter two another?
i am certain i will have many more questions to ask once my first ones get answered before i can move on to the next chapter.
so is that ok to "do it as i go"

You really need to do the whole thing at once. It shouldn't take you anymore than an hr.

Ps 1hr is over the top because I know it can be done a lot quicker but you should never rush it.

how do i know if i have 350 blocks of nand space? --> Go to Wii Options --> Wii Data Management --> Channels --. Make sure you have the Wii tab selected and down bottom right corner you will see how many blocks you have.

when it says format sd card.. is that telling me to do it right then, or is it telling me that is what will happen? lol --> You need to format the card on your PC

do i have to use a 1-2g card? i have many 4g's. --> A 2gb is recommended but you can try the 4gb. If you start getting errors it could be the sd card.

    PART I
i have 4.3u version, there were 6 different ways to get the hackmii installer. they arent games are they? i see where i have to play it for a while or something....

is that where it is on the computer and i put it on the sd card? --> You need one of the games to use the exploit on 4.3 and no there is no other way. What you download to the pc is a modified save game to get the exploit to work.
