i was having problems with my HDD after this mod aswell, i could play games but couldnt install them, so i installed cIOS249[38]-v21.wad from modmii and now it works perfect. for the
When opening CFG USB-Loader from Wii Menu 4.1u, it displays v68d, and 249 underneath it. After a second it displays "248" under the 249. After a couple seconds everything scrolls up another line but no new text. Then it times out and I have to reset the Wii.
problem sound likeyou have got ISO 249 set to run in your "config.txt" or "settings.cfg" and ISO 248 to run in your "meta.xml" should look something like this ISO :249, it only needs to be in one of the three files.

but i could be wrong but its worth a try while yoe wait for other to reply, but as far as you having to reset the wii, i have no clue as what it could be.

I have flakiness with CFG USB-Loader which may be relevant, which is why I'm asking. My CFG USB-Loader hangs unless I unplug the drive first, then plug it in after it times out. It didn't used to do that before I just NAND formatted and reinstalled everything, so I figured maybe the IOS was different somehow. I'm using a WBFS partition as my primary and an ext3 partition for more space.

The latest sysCheck v2.0.1b7 suggests IOS249 and IOS236 don't have USB 2.0, and IOS247/IOS248 don't have ES Identify. Also, IOS16 doesn't have NAND, etc. Anyway, some differences from what you posted. The sysCheck could be wrong, but I wanted to check with you. :-)

Your sysckeck may not be entirely accurate. Anyway, start by just reinstalling the cios, use these wads.-
    d2x4 cios.zip
Just install them with wadmangaer. Let me know if it has any effect on your issue. If it does not have any effect I think you should try a different rev in ios slot 249. If you problem still persists, install IOS249 v17.wad If that helps let me know.

mauifrog - i really don't get it - may be i'm blind or something From where can I instal HBC - where can I DL proper SW? In your "Chapter 1-Installing The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii" can't find any DL link to SW!!! I have already "unlock" two older wiis some time ago (version some 3.5+ and 4.1) and for last one I use guide from "Dogeggs" "New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii" and i didn't have any problems. Please help me. Oh, need to unlock new Black Wii version 4.3E. Thank you...

    What is SW?
To install HB on a 4.3 you need to use a game exploit. See 4.3 spoiler....

mauifrog, I dl'ed the files and replaced my IOSes in MMM wad manager, removing then installing (it wouldn't install unless I removed first.) I did notice your pack didn't have a 248, so after I tried your 249 and it did the same as before, I downgraded 248 to v21003 (though it was from the v21dx4 pack.) No love. I tried 249 v17 and no love. Odd that. Is there a x4 for 248? Doesn't USB-loader try 248?

Any chance it's a USB-loader issue? Maybe the channel, DOL? I did try to copy over my old files into usb-loader on my SD, to try to salvage my past settings. Will try to start fresh in case that matters and report back.

Seriously slonny?! It's worth it really. But if you're watching your budget you can rent one just to get through the mauifrog steps.

@slonny-if by list of games to use, you refer to the game exploits, please read the guide more carefully. By guide, I refer to Post number 1 of this thread. Match the instructions up with the system menu of your Wii and you will see the lmited number of games that can be used to effect a softmod. Good luck.
