Place the bootmii folder back on the root of your sd card.

Then continue guide as normal? Sorry if this was a silly issue.

Hello, i have read the guide now many times, but i am still a bit confused over the region changing.
I want my pal 4.3e wii to run american VC games, so i will have to region change my wii, but reading the guide, it says alot about 4.1, and well, wouldnt that brick my wii, downgrading from 4.3e?

If you bought the VC Games in your region then you wouldn't have a problem.
Messing with your wii's system could alway potentially end in a brick.
Downgrading to 4.1 is pretty easy and as long as you dont have a power cut during the downgrade then you should be fine.

Well PAL/E VC games runs at 50hz, and i want 60hz (ntsc/america runs this).
I will get the vc games from a place (not gonna tell you, because of many reasons).

So basically, you are saying that I can just follow this game and it will be fine? (downloading the USA Modpack and running it on the guide on my PAL 4.3E wii).
Heres another of my confusing parts:
in the patched SM step, you install it from a folder thats called system menu 4.1 (im guessing this installs 4.1).
and then later, in the region changing step it says "Do not install system menu 4.1"

    :-/ it didn't work.

I logged everything exactly as I did it:

    1. Formatted SD card.
    2. Re-downloaded ModPack-NTSC-U.zip and extracted to SDCard root.
    3. Re-downloaded CIOS-Pack.zip and extracted to SDCard root.
    4. Copied bootmii folder (created from NAND backup) to root of SDCard, overwriting bootmii folder extracted from ModPack-NTSC-U.
    5. Executed md5summer.exe, selected SDCard location as root, chose "Verify Sums".
    6. Selected ModPack-NTSC-U.md5, error window opened and closed quickly.
    7. Selected CIOS-Pack-v3.md5, error window opened and closed quickly.
    8. Removed SDCard from computer, turned on Wii, inserted SDCard, selected HBC.
    9. At HBC, 4 icons are viewable: AnyRegionChanger, BootMii, PopMe!, PriiLoader. Gecko icon is greyed out, WiFi is solid white.
    10. Pressed HOME on wiimote, menu pops up.Highlight & selected "Launch Bootmii", screen fades and disc tray begins flashing.

That's where I'm at. What did I do wrong or where should I go from here?

    EDIT:::
I restarted the wii, went back into HBC and clicked the BootMii icon to see if anything would happen. Icon showed to be for "cboot2 Multi Mod Manager". After clicking, screen faded, then showed a stack dump and froze. Had to restart wii again. Don't know if that helps any.

    Thumbs up

I will be getting my Wii on Monday, which is the day my exams are over for the month (Which i doubt you want to know), though I have one query before going ahead in making the decision in using the SoftMod, and not buying a 'chip' for a Hard Mod.

    * I have not been able to read the whole thread as their are 500+ pages of replies.

    1) Will I be able to play on WiFi on various games?

If So) What is the likelyhood of my Wii getting bricked while playing online?

(Please note I am new to hacking the Wii and have tried to do as much research as possible, however my eye clicked when the thought of modding my soon to be Wii, was possible having to spend £20+ for the chip itself)

You have more chance of bricking doing the mod but don't let that scare you because as long as you follow the guide to the t you will be fine. Playing online will not cause a brick. You may get banned if caught cheating which we do not support here.

A chip will be useless if you have the newer drive chipset in your wii. So if you are buying a shop bought new wii then you will prob have one.

So you are not buying them from the shop channel so you are stealing them which is Piracy.
