Try using a different card, or formatting the one you have to FAT32, but rather then using the "Quick" feature...do a full format of the card. Download the files again, and try again.

I have used a few micro SD card with adapters, and they worked fine. So try the full format and see what happens. Whats the brand of the SD card and adapter?

I've been doing the full format, to FAT32.

SanDisk adapter and SanDisk 1gb microSD (not SDHC). I have another 2gb microSD, and will try that.

I also have a 4g microSD SDHC, but from what I've read this will not work. Is that correct?

Also, I tried some of the other disc exploits like SmashStack and YU-GI-VAH. Once the Wii loads from the card, it just shows an empty menu (channels I guess they're called).

    Update: No luck.

I've used regular 1gb and 2gb microSD cards and a 4gb microSDHC card.

I've tried formatting FAT, FAT32, I also used the format utility in mauifrog's first post.

And I've tried different disk exploits.

In all cases, I get one of two results:
    1. if using Indiana PWNS, I get error#004 (regardless of card or format)
    2. if using Smash Stack, YU-GI-VAH, or jbathaxx, I can load the sd card, but get an empty SD Card Menu (again, regardless of card or format)

    Any ideas?

I believe I have used a SDHC before for the mod, but I have used so many different cards its hard to remember. Also think you can try just regular old FAT for the initial mod....but usually just use FAT32 for it. Just try what you have and one is bound to work. But also be sure to download the mod files again just to be sure the files aren't corrupt from the download.

I added this later to the prior post, but you may not have seen it:

    Any idea why that is?

Not really...beats me. But I think you should merge your two posts before you get flamed for it...lol. But someone will chime in shortly that will have a solution. First time I've seen this type of issue....but haven't been a member to long though.

Have other things loaded in the SD slot properly? To rule out a faulty SD slot....also may sound dumb, but is the lock on the SD card set to "lock"?

The sd card seems to be read, it shows up in Data Management. SD is not locked, if it was I wouldn't be able to format it.

Wait a second. Do I need the actual game cd (Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Indiana PWNS) to softmod a 4.3u?

I don't think you are following the instructions correctly. For PWNS did you play the game first then exit as instructed?

EDIT: Just saw your above post... Thats a fail for not reading the first page there chieftain.... Go back and read the first page and you won't have any problems...

I think I confused Super Smash with Smash Stack and thought the file I was downloading was the only thing I needed.

Is there any way to get around having the original game disc? I guess I can't use a backup disc because I'm not softmodded yet. Any other options?
