I thought the link in "Not a Pirate" was for the softmod pack, no wonder why I was getting directed back to WiiHacks, that used to be the WiiHacks.com password. I selected one of the other links and it directs me to the mediafire download.

i am thinking about (cheapest) Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes , will this work.. as the guide says Star Wars game

    thanks in advance

The exploit works on the original Lego Star Wars game as well as the newer (1.01) release (NTSC and PAL).

For those of you who follow this guide, I would like you to know that I have added another layer of protection to the guide. In chapter 2 during batch wad install, the first wad to install will be "!!!IOS60-system-compatibility-test.wad". This is ios60-v6174 installed in ios slot 236, after install MMM will reload to iso236 (ios60-v6174) and install 1OS236.wad. 1OS236 is ios36 patched to slot 236, after it is install MMM will reload ios236 again. What this does is test ios60-v6174 for system functionality before proceeding with the system modification. It is extremely unlikely that this will ever serve any purpose, however it is possible that Nintendo could produce new wii hardware in the future that would not be compatible with ios60-v6174. If that where the case, the installation would freeze at !!!IOS60-system-compatibility-test.wad and prevent further modification to the wii, preventing damage to such a system.

A similar situation happened in the past with softmods using ios30-v1040, this protection will prevent such an issue from happening with ios60-v6174.

This is not an update for your softmod, just a change in the modding process.

I still can't figure out one thing after doing this tutorial.

I updated my Korean soft-modded Wii and changed the region to the U.S. After this everything has been perfect (thank you again OP) except for the Mii Channel. When I try to load the Mii channel it says this channel is not valid. I believe it is still trying to load the Korean Mii channel.

This is fine and dandy except for now I can't create new or edit old Miis. Kinda puts a damper on when friends come over and they have to play "guest" all the time.

I tried downloading and installing the wad with NUDdownloader. It said it installed correctly but I still receive the same error.

I tried downloading the channel wad separately and it says the same thing and does the same thing as before.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

Should I uninstall the Mii Channel (if even possible) and then try installing it again? How would I go about doing this?

    Cheers,
    Big Tex

I'll finally go for the softmode with SSBB-PAL. but I have 2 questions
they are for sure answered somewhere in the thread but it would take a long time to look for them.

For the SD card can I use microsd and an adapter for it? ( the card is Kingston i know the best is sandisk but to be shure )

    And

in the Chapter 1, part 3 when I need to pres the reset and power buttons it says
Power = Right, Eject = Left, Reset = Select those are the options for Wii remote ?
i know the questions may be stupid but just to be shure .

    Thanks

    @darkbeta,
2GB SD card is the best option, microSD + adaptor can do but the adaptor may cause trouble (it happens)

the Power = Right, Eject = Left, Reset = Select those ARE THE OPTIONS FOR Wii remote, when manipulating the Bootmii screen(s)
better control with a GC controller

hi ya i used your old 4.3 guide to softmod a few wii's and all have worked fantastic(thank you greatly),,i then got my own wii stolen(typical),,i had a back up one though hid away also on version 4.3e so looked for your brill guide once more but couldnt find the one i originally used so i used this one for any wii.i found that it was slightly different to the one i used before but carried on anyway and it has modded just fine,,the only thing i did not do was the system menu 4.1 part,,as this worried me a bit and didnt want to mess up my little lads wii(he would kill me :-) lol),,i just have one problem with wiimc,,when i load it up it says THE CURRENT IOS NOT SUPPORTED,,,have i done something wrong? or should i just try another version of it?,,,or do i need to install another certain ios?,,thanks mick

OK, I MUST be doing something stupid that I can't see here... Can someone please tell me what !!

I've a new black 4.3e delivered this morning. I've got SSBB (pal). I've followed the guide to the letter but when I enter the stage builder for the second time nothing happens?

I've read about different sd cards working better then others, so I've use 5 so far. 3 normal sized and 2 micro's with 2 different holders. I've tried with no save game and with a saved game. Nothing.

I'm not that much of a newbie, I've done 3.x Wii's in the past and they've always works right off the bat.

What am I doing wrong ?

Are you using the correct region save file? Is your file structure correct on your SD? You sound like you know it shouldnt be SDHC and has to be 2GB or less? You have played the game and saved before? I wouldnt recommend the micro sd with holder either.

    EDIT (This should work)

    1. Create an empty folder on your SD card (SDHC won't work)
      PAL users create "SD:/private/wii/app/RSBP/st".
      KOR users create "SD:/private/wii/app/RSBK/st".
    2. Put the stage you downloaded in that folder.
    3. Put the homebrew you want to load (Hackmii) on the root of your SD card as
      "SD:/boot.elf"
    4. If you have a save file, then you need to delete any existing custom stages and then exit out of the stage builder.
    5. Insert the SD card into the Wii and enter the stage builder.
    6. The homebrew (boot.elf) should be loaded.
