    4.3 region free...?

    Hello all,

Yesterday i have modden a 4.3E, following the 4.3 softmod guide on this side.

Everyting went well..perfect!! But i heard of some people here in Holland that it is not possible to mod a wii 4.3e so that it will be region free. They say you can only play NTCS.

But after modding my we i can play PAL games as NTCS games as wel.

The only thing i did after modding followingg the guide was updating some files.

    DOP-Mii ReportRegion, Europe (E)Hollywood Version, 0x21Wii Unique DeviceID, 137702530IOS Version, FakeSign, ES_Identify, NAND, Flash250 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled249 (v20),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled248 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled247 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled236 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled224 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled223 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled222 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled202 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled150 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled90 (v54321),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled80 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled70 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled61 (v5662),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled60 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled58 (v6176),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled57 (v5919),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled56 (v5662),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled55 (v5663),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled53 (v5663),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled50 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled48 (v4124),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled46 (v3607),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled45 (v3607),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled43 (v3607),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled41 (v3607),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled38 (v4124),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled37 (v5663),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled36 (v54321),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled35 (v3608),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled34 (v3608),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled33 (v3608),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled31 (v3608),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled30 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled28 (v1807),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled22 (v1294),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled20 (v65535),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled17 (v1032),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled16 (v54321),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Enabled15 (v1032),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled14 (v1032),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled13 (v1032),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled12 (v526),Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled11 (v54321),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled9 (v54321),Enabled,Enabled,Enabled,Disabled

    Above is my dope-mii report.

Now is my question, was my wii a virgin 4.3 or not? And according to the guide i followed can i play PAL also as NTCS?

    Thanx for the afford!

Stuck at Chapter 1 part 1

    Hi,
I'm new to the comunity and have introduced myself.
    I have a 4.3E black Wii.
I have formatted my 1GB SD card as FAT using the tool referred to in the guide and extracted the Hackmii 0.8 files to the root of the SD card.
Played the Indiana Jones Original disc and successfully started a new game. Then exited to the main wii menu and navigated to the
Wii Options -> Data Management -> Save Data -> Wii. Clicked the SD card tab, but can only see 3 unidentifed (?) icons; so I cannot see the "Indiana Pwns" save that corresponds to my game region (Europe PAL 50hz).
I tried changing the attribute settings of the files as suggested in one of the other articles but no joy.
I reformatted the SD card and copied the Hackmii 0.8 files again. Exactly the same problem.
    Am I missing something?

    Cheers
    Kevin

I have modded two Wii's now with the 4.3 guide and missed the part about "Optional Extra Brick Protection" using the Indiana PWNS, Yo-Gi-VAH, and Yo-Gi-OWNED disc exploits. I have both my Wii's running fine with all the mods, but maybe I better install these exploits. I do NOT have a copy of the Indiana Jones game. Regardless, the guide is pretty vague about these hacks. Can somebody please explain these a little better? I have been in the chat room and another member brought this extra protection section to my attention, and he is having trouble as well.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I've been scanning the earlier answers and I can confirm the correct files directory on the SD card is as per mauifrog's post on page 10 of this thread:

    sd:\boot.elf
    sd:\bootmini.elf
    sd:\private\wii\app\rsbe\st\st_080805_0933.bin
    sd:\private\wii\title\aktn\content.bin
    sd:\private\wii\title\rlie\data.bin
    sd:\private\wii\title\rlij\data.bin
    sd:\private\wii\title\rlip\data.bin

I am using a 1GB standard SD card. I've reformatted again since the last post and instead of the 3 icons with question marks, the wii is showing all blank icon placeholders on the SD card. Putting the card back into my laptop I can see the directory structure as above is still there! Any ideas of what could be wrong?

    Thanks

    http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...lity-list.html

you say standard but it has a brand name.... the wii might not recognize it. also check the lock unlock position on the sd try both.

You say you started a new game of Indiana Jones but I thought you had to play some of the first level and create a save file??? Once you have created a save file, then go and delete it, then the Indiana Pwns should be recognized for you to copy over.

Just thought I would share my success story. Followed the excellent guide word by word and everything worked a treat. Took just over 30mins, however I decided not to downgrade to 4.1.

Key thing is read the guide, then re read it, then re read it again. When you understand what you are doing, read it again whilst doing it. I spent a good day reading the guide and different parts of the thread before giving it a go and all appears to have gone well.

PS. my Wii is 3 years old, I used a 2gb PLAY SD card formatted in windows....I just may have been lucky. Good Luck !!!

When you start a new game for the first time the wii asks you to create a save file. if he followed the steps correctly and the wii isnt showing whats on the sd maybe it's not seeing it? happens a lot.. some of the wii's are touchy about what card it wants to read..
