I loaded the IOS236.wad from this package and IOS53-64-v5406.wad from your previous reply. No change, still getting disk error! Any other ideas?

On a side note, I have a few questions about playing from USB drive:
1- Do I just put the downloaded game.ISO file on the USB drive?
2- Does it have to be in the root?
3- Can I have more than 1 file or folder on the USB drive?
4- How do I load the game from there?

I can play straight from USB if we can't get the disk channel to work! I kept all my iso files after burning to disk.
Sorry for all the questions, but I have not done softmod before and do not want to brick my wii.

    Extract IOS60-patched.zip to sd:\wad
    Install it, then test NSMB.

    YouTube - wii sd demo_xvid.avi
You extracted the files to a folder on sd:\ They need to be on sd:\
    sd:\boot.elf
    sd:\private

I installed ISO60-patched and got the disk error message as usual, but when I pressed the reset button I am now looing at a white screen:
System menu, homebrew channel, etc... never seen this before. Should I "launch title"?

Backup the files on your SD Card to the pc and reformat the SD Card.
