Failtube (and HMN) are ways to brick your Wii.

Thank you very much for this excellent guide.

My friend has a softmodded 4.2U wii which accidentally updated to 4.3U and of course his wii was not functioning like before. WiiFlow channel/Neogamma do not recognize the USB backup drive anymore. Well the Homebrew channel is still there eventhough Nintendo has stubbed a lot of IOS's and CIOSs (as the syscheck log below). Following this guide was able me to make his wii working again with system menu 4.3 now - One thing, in Chapter 1, part 1 - Launch Hackmii Installer, I had to use MMM version 13.4 (not the one include in the zip) because my friend wii has higher revision of IOS58 and IOS61 than those in the zp.

Here the syscheck list before re-softmodding:

    sysCheck v2.0.1 by Double_A
    ...runs on IOS58 (rev 6176).

    Region: NTSC-U
    System Menu 4.3U (v513)
    Hollywood v0x11
    Console ID:
    Boot2 v4

    Found 236 titles.
Found 45 IOS on this console. 15 of them are stub.

    IOS4 (rev 65280): Stub
    IOS9 (rev 1034): No Patches

Would like to thank you for this good guide. I do still have a few questions. 1) I loaded anywii-app pack onto my sd card. Do use loadmii for that and how do I use loadmii? 2) My brother in-law had his wii softmod on 4.2u but updated to 4.3 by mistake (well his son). Do I just do the Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed part or do I need to do all the steps? Once again thanks for all the help in advance.

thats what I did...Im telling you. Bootmii reads and installs Neogamma but it wont show up!

and the Darkside thing doesnt work. Still wont read games. Whats this rev74 something I keep hearing about? Is that necessary?
