I need alittle help getting HomeBrew going after accidental 4.3 update, Please...

I would like to say thank you for the great walk-thru MauiFrog. This is my first posting so I hope I'm doing this right.

I have a softmodded Wii and from the Metroid Other M game the 4.3 update was installed and the Homebrew erased. I carefully followed your walk-thru, and got the Homebrew back on my Wii. In addition I now have the "Backup disk channel", "LoadMii usb Homebrew" and "usb Loader CFG" installed. My question is when I load the Homebrew channel, (with my existing external HD with games plugged in) 4 option boxes show on the screen within the Homebrew channel; "Configurable usb Loader", "Homebrew Browser", "Savegame Manager" and "WiiMC".

With my original Homebrew (before the 4.3 download screwup) I could just start it and my game list would automatically start from my hd. What do I need to do to get my games to boot from my external HD with the new Homebrew Channel?
    XOXOXOX,
    LAURIE

Instead of loading the HBC, load CFG loader, this should bring up your games. Loading the HBC should always load the HBC and not autoboot the apps (AFAIK). So if you want to go straight to the games click on the cfg usbloader. If you want to boot the wii straight to the games, install the cfg usbloader forwarder into priiloader and set it to autoboot the installed file.

Yeah, I prepare it from hackmii, and I have the bootmii folder in the SD card. I have followed the steps precisely. I hacked my other Wii, I'm doing this one for a friend. I am still getting the same problem. If Bootmii comes up at all, it immediately crashes. I can't get past this step. Any ideas? I've tried setting everything on the wii to factory settings and starting fresh, and I'm still getting the same problem.

Do you know if triiforce can be added to 4.3 after following your guide, w/out downgrading to 4.1? Everything else (everything included w/ the guide and a bunch of game backups, purchased game disks, etc) seem to work fine w/ 4.3. (this is a new black wii. no changes other than unboxing it and following this guide)

And if so, should I just follow the "triiforce user guide" here, w/out any extra precautions?

    Thanks

You could go back to Rev 17 IOS 250 (note: yes, 250) only to allow for triforce to work (you'd have to specify this IOS). Look here. In other words, leave IOS 249 alone.

My apologies, mauifrog --- I knew you shelved the other 4.3 guide, I hadn't looked that close to see what cIOS (I had asked you at one point to consider Rev 17, thanks).

Thank you Mauifraug for this nice guide. I have installed Darkcorp as instructed but could not play any GC game. I think WiiGator's Cmiso was not installed correctly. I tried to use Wiigator installer to réinstall CMios and got the following error : could not open the file : RVL-mios-v4.wad.

    Could you help please.

Since your setting up a usb I really think you will like that better, for your retail games and those we will not speak of. So unless it becomes an issue, take that game out when you boot. Does it do it with any other games?
I tested with all other retail Wii games that I own (14 of them) and none have this problem except for Metroid Other M lol. Just bad luck on my part I suppose. So as a heads up for other people - after softmodding with this guide, you may have trouble booting your Wii if you leave Metroid Other M (retail NTSC/U actual disc) in the drive. If this happens, I had to eject the disc, unplug my Wii, and turn it back on. One time I had to hold reset while pushing power to get into priiloader (not sure why that happened). Just a heads up for everyone!

Thanks again mauifrog, I appreciate your help and great guide!

Leaving a disc in your Wii, one with a 4.3 update on it, would not be wise, no matter what guide you follow.
