When going through the guide I used a 2GB Kodak SD card formatted with the Panasonic SD Formatter app. After everything was set up I moved all files over to my Nintendo branded 4GB Sandisk SDHC card (also formatted with the Panasonic SD Formatter app). I have two external hard drives - a Western Digital 2.5GB hard drive in an external enclosure 500GB (this is the one in use by my son's 4.2 softmodded Wii) and a 120GB Western Digital Passport hard drive that I am using for this Wii. Both of them are formatted FAT32 with the WFBS folder and both those hard drives work via WiiFlow on my son's Wii. For fun, I formatted and moved the same files/apps to the 2GB Kodak SD card with no difference, still no ability to install and get the same error.

As for Wad Manager, I've tried with 1.4 (most consistent with at least letting me SEE the WAD files on my SD card), 1.5 (just about the same as 1.4), and 1.7 which gives me an error upon selecting Wii SD slot.

If you've confirmed the HDs as-is work on your son's Wii (and the differences between his unit and yours are no different; that's a stretch, but certainly could be the case) and you've tried the 2gb sd card and various versions of wad manager, it seems you have the bases covered. No error message(s) at all? Just freeze up?

Thumbs up To Mauifrog Regarding Darkcorps Pros and Cons

Hi Mauifrog and Thanks for writing a great faq to update my Wii softmod of version 4.1U

Would it be possible to inform the beginners like myself in all your Wii Softmod FAQ's and Tutorials the full and detailed pros and cons of installing Darkcorp version 1.1? I think this new version of Darkcorp is also known as CiosCorp version 4.

I just do not want beginners to risk messing up their softmod because of Darkcorp whether the installation of it is successful or not.

For beginner softmodders its a program that let's you play all your burned games whether Wii or Gamecube and load it up via the Disc channel without the use of a Backup Disk Channel.

Also could you please update your FAQ's regarding the new version of Priiloader. It's version 0.6 that came out Christmas eve just recently as I myself have a hard time updating from version 0.4 to the new version.

Thanks so much for your all your help on your Tutorials. Now I can play Super Mario All Stars Limited Edition without any worries (Legal Disk of course)

I myself have not tried to install Darkcorp as of yet until I do enough research that its reliable and yes I know USB Loading from a Hard Drive is faster but I still would like Darkcorp option for people that want to play their backups on the Disk Channel.

Lol, you deleted your IOS's by ? I think you mean mistake. If English isn't your first language, I'm sorry, I know it can't be easy. I just couldn't resist.

When you updated your Wii, all the official IOS's were updated/installed. There is a slight chance of bricking when softmodding, but that is true for all Wii's. As long as you follow the instructions on here, you should be fine.

Here's some different options I've tried.

    WAD installation
    WAD Manager v1.5
    Select IOS249
    Select SD/SDHC card
    Select Wii SD Slot
    Select carbonik-Nforwarder58-WFBJ.wad
    Select action: Install WAD
Installing Ticket... ERROR! (ret = -1)
Same for genplus GX v2- Sega.wad and Snes9xGx-SNGX.wad

    Yet Another WAD Manager rev25
    Select IOS249
    Select SD/SDHC Card
    Select Wii SD Slot
    Select carbonik-Nforwarder-58-WFBJ.wad
    Select Action: Install WAD
Installing ticket... ERROR! (ret = -1)
Same for above 2 WAD files

    MMM v13.2
    Select WAD Manager
    Select carbonik-Nforwarder58-WFBJ.wad
Select file operation: <install> and pressed A to proceed
    Installing 1/1: carbonik-Nforwarder58-WFBJ.wad - Ticket (-2011)

[#] Final Status - 1 did not complete.

    USB HARD DRIVES
    Launch WiiFlow2.2rc1
    Black screen... never shows up

Launch Configurable USB Loader Version 58
Configurable USB Loader splash screen shows up
    Bottom-right shows
    v58
    249
    250 [FRAG]
...and stays stuck there. When no USB device is plugged in, it proceeds as normal showing no games in window. Have to hard reboot system after this.

    WiiMC 1.1.1
Launch app, select USB to load files from, no error, but program freezes up

    WiiXplorer r210
Launch app, click USB option on top left corner, program freezes up at that point. Have to reset or hard reboot.

Very nice guide!! Do we expect a 4.3 softmod without having to buy a game in the near future...? Is anyone working on that?

I don't know if anyone is working on it, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I know that bannerbomb for 4.3 has been given up on, and that was the only exploit that didn't use a game.
