You only need to uninstall the neogamma channel and usbloader gx channel, nothing else. You do this from wii settings - data management - channels.

    original post:

wow, it was so much easier back when all you had to do was open your wii and solder a chip on a ic with cut pins (that took me an hour, this softmodding business is taking up a whole week)

    heres my story:

    started with a 4.3 wii.

followed this guide [Removed to prevent confusion] with the smash stack method.

installed channels(mostly emulators and usbloader_gx), , hb apps via hbb, etc etc. had various problem such as some emulators not being able to save, took forever to get usb_loadergx to find my games on my hdd and still when i got that working i tried to load the game and the screen went black.

then i found this guide. started from chapter 2 and completed it successfully. now all my channels restart the wii even though i restored the original sd card contents. the usb loader that this guide installs doesnt recognize my drive. and the hbc doesnt show any apps even though the app folder on the sd card is full.

want i want to do is just simply start over from a fresh 4.3 wii and then follow only this guide. how can i make that happen or is there a better way to fix my situation?

    much appreciated,
    bougs
    mauifrog's reply:

You can do the whole guide from chapter 1, reinstall HBC 0.8, do the whole thing. Before you start, go into data management and remove the usbloader channel, the neogamma channel- they have been replaced. Do the guide and post back, hopefully it will work for you.

I've done this before, and I haven't had a problem that I haven't been able to figure out.....until now. I install HBC, install Bootmii, prepare the SD card, then I go to load bootmii, and it just goes to a black screen and freezes...while the Wii stays on. The IOS Bootmii is already installed, but I have the option to install as Boot2. I've tried having both installed, and I've tried having just the IOS installed. Both just give me a black screen every time I try and load the bootmii. I'm using the smashstack hack if that matters. Anyone know what the problem is? I AM using 4.3 BTW.

BTW, love the site. I've been lurking for a few months now, but I just now registered.

I followed this whole guide from start to finish, and everything went well, until at the end when I shut off my Wii. Now it goes to a black screen when I boot up, not sure why. I can go into Priiloader, and can boot into HBC or the system menu from there, but if I try to set it to autoboot to system menu, I get the black screen on startup. If I set it to autoboot HBC, I get priiloader coming up when I start my wii saying "error autobooting hbc". Did I do something wrong? And is there a way to fix this? It does still technically work, but I have to get priiloader up all the time, then pick HBC or system menu. Thanks!

    Hey guys,
I'm a complete Wii modding newbie, however I have modded several other things in the past so I am not new to the idea.
I'm coming across an error when I try to install Priiloader.
Saying loader.ini not deleted and password.txt not deleted.
However then its saying the install is complete and the screen is freezing.
When I go to restart, it will not book Priiloader when I'm holding in the restart key, it only loads Multi-Mod Manager.
    Any help?
    Thanks

Make sure you prepare the sd-card with the hackmii installer. You need the sd:\bootmii to load bootmii, it should start at boot for boot2, and from HBC for ios.

You need to disable the black screen at system menu startup hack in priiloader (Perhaps), there is a hack that black screens the system menu, ensure it is disabled. To autoboot the hbc, you need to use the HBC-Forwarder.dol found in chapter 2.

The errors while installing priiloader are normal, it is installed. MMM loading at boot means you have boot2 bootmii, lucky you. Enable your priiloader hacks using MMM, or delete sd:\bootmii, that will stop MMM from loading at boot.
