I just got off the phone with his parents.. He said he was working fine, then before the health screen it was bringing up a funky page that was black and had the TV resolution, then some other writing. then it would flicker weird then go to health screen. I have no fricken Idea what he did to make it do that.. So I should be safe just redoing this softmod??

First of all Thank You to all your guys hard work. I have had a wii for a long time now but only recently gotten into it more. I have a 4.3u software and everything worked in the tutorial except the priiloader. I was able to get it to work but when i set the settings as described the screen stayed black and flickered. I was able to get back into priiloader and uninstall but am worried if i go much further i will brick the wii. Any help would be appriciated. Thank you again!

I doubt that has anything to do with him formating his Wii. Most likely he had bootmii as boot2, but it had the wrong video setting, which is harmless, it just means you won't be able to see bootmii until the settings are changed. Resoftmod it, then use Bootmii Configuration Editor to set VIDEO to whatever kind of TV he has, and BOOTDELAY to 1.

Also tell your freind that formatting your Wii is a really stupid thing to do. There wasn't anything wrong with his Wii, but if there was, formatting could have made things worse.

Not sure I understand , are you saying I would be better to do a complete softmod , I was asking if I could just use all the wad files from the guide as I'm pretty much up to date

    hello,

new to these forum and the reason for my post is that I have a problem.
I just followed step 1+2 and no problems at all.

    Wii version: 4.1E
    Originial region: EU
    Changed to US

    Then I came here:

If you want to change the region of your wii, do it now
This is most common when changing Korean/Japan wiis to USA
DO NOT RESTART THE WII UNTIL THIS PROCESS IS COMPLETE

    Download
    4.1-region_change.zip
    extract to sd:\
    Run sd:\md5summer.exe
    Verify 4.1-region_change.md5 check sums

    In MMM select App Manager
    Launch ARCmod06_Offline
    Select ios236- press A
    Read the WARNING- press 1

Use the wiimote, go down to-"system menu 4.1 installer"
    Select "System Menu Region"
Change the region to USA (or Europe or Jap)
Go down to "Auto set from System Menu Region" -Press A
"WARNING: AREA: SysMenu MISMATCH!" will appear above- this is normal
Also, ensure the ELUA is marked as read
Do not install system menu 4.1
Exit ARC-mod to HBC (do not restart)
    HBC will loads

    Launch Multi-Mod Manager
MMM will load, Select Wad Manager
Select the folder for your region: USA-4.1u, EURO-4.1e, JAP-4.1j
Make sure you select the correct folder for your desired region change.
Press 1, install all 3 wads -without error
System menu 4.1, Elua, and Region Select will install
Now go to Part 3- Install Priiloader

Once you have completed this guide, you can use
dop-mii to install/uninstall any channels you like

When I selected exit ARC-Mod to HBC my screen went black with whitish stripes in the middle. Nothing happend hereafter, my Wii controller disconnected (still unable to connect at this moment). Pressing the power/reset button only made the screen turn black. My Wii is still on right now, but I read that turning it off is very bad. So I'm kinda lost here.

How do I fix my problem?

    Thank you in advance,

    Daan

ok so now i have restarted from the guide at Part 3 of Chapter 2 as suggested, twice now. each time when i get to the priiloader part it gives an error (106 now) but appears to load successfully then freezes which says is normal. when i take out the sd card to reset and boot the wii then it just goes to the black screen on my tv I put the card back in and then it shows it loading bootmi (i think??) and goes right to mmm. when i look about in mmm it shows the manage priiloader option and the edit priiloader hacks option to which the only ones enabled are the blocking updates ones and the bannerbomb. I have no idea what i did wrong or what to do to fix or if even it can be fixed, which i assume it can cause of the mmm loading at boot ??? I do have my nand backup saved and the wads all loaded without error. is this fixable?? Thanks to anyone who can offer any assistance, i know its the holidays so everyone must be busy i just feel so bad as we got a bunch of wii games for christmas so i am pretty much the most unpopular person in the house right now for breaking the wii

MonkeyGirl i have basically the same issue. Dont worry you can get your wii back like i did but it requires removing the priiloader from the wii. It is where I am at also. I have not yet gotten any responses but hopefully someone will save the day soon. Hope your day gets better.

You'll have to power off the wii, hold the power button down until it powers down. Then finish the guide.
