Update from 3.4E to 4.3E, HBR and BootMii are stil on and working, what to do?

I own Wii with original menu version 3.4E.

I've installed HBR and BootMii using HackMii Installer and bannerbomb. Soon after installation I was able to enter the HBR but BootMii didn't work. Nor by lunching it through HBR.

I was bored and I updated my Wii from Nintendo. Stupid me! Now the menu version is 4.3E!

... but HBR is stil on! And after I discovered this guide, I reinstalled BootMii with apps downloaded from this forum and BootMii is working fine if I start it through HBR.

Can I use this guide to hack my Wii? Will it work? Thank you all!

    Cheers,

    Matija

I already told you that you could. Please don't ask a question if you already have the answer. Besides, I'm pretty sure the guide's name is a dead give away.

Just follow the instructions for 2.0-3.4.

    Question Reversing the process...

Suppose I got to the point of backing up my NAND before realizing I was softmodding the wrong Wii? Is it possible to just uninstall BootMii and HBC, or do I need to do anything more?

Your best option would be to leave it softmodded, since there isn't a downside to it.

If, for some strange reason, you still want to cripple your Wii (removing softmods ), you can just run hackmii again to uninstall your beautiful softmods.

The best order is not installing them at all. Your Wii is safe from bricking with softmods.

Click if you want to make the wrong decision

    Hello,

I just softmodded my Wii from around four or five years ago and I'm having trouble playing DVDs.

Any suggestions? WiiMC and Mplayer TT both refuse to recognize when I insert a DVD into the drive.

    Thanks,
    Charlie
