Ok. i had a Black Wii on 4.3E but thanks to this thread im now back on 4.1E I have a Wode installed and before the downgrade it played Gamecube ISOs without any problems. Now it doesnt. I did uninstall WiiGator's GC Backup Launcher 0.2 via WAD Manager and now all i get is a black screen, where as with Wiigator installed the games worked but then got an error similar to the Disc Read Error. Is there an IOS i need to change? Anyone know what i need to do the get GC games working again?

Hi! First of all thank you for the guide.

    Now to my question.

At the start of this guide you said "DO NOT UPDATE TO 4.3."

What does that mean? That it's not necessary to update because you can follow a guide on the lower versions (4.2 etc.etc) or that if you have upgraded to 4.3 this guide will not work?

Because I'm now going to softmod my friends Wii, and he have a black Wii which was 4.2 when he bought it, but he updated it to 4.3 a while ago.

Can I still perform this softmod thru this guide?

    Thanks in advance

Okay. So what you mean is that its not recommended to upgrade thru N, but If U did upgrade to 4.3 this guide can still be done without any problems?

Sorry If I ask stupid questions but the last thing I wanna do is to brick my friends wii, its worse than bricking your own lol.

    Thank you again.

If your Wii isn't 4.3, then this is the wrong guide for you. That version (as 4.2, for that matter) offers the user no further functionality, but rather only more anti-piracy measures. 4.3 requires one of four original games (read: retail/non-backup) to actually perform the softmod; there is no such requirement for 4.2 and below.

Just curious over something read in thread regarding 4.3 and need clearing up-saw this does this mean can use the zip without having the game for 4.3 or do you require the game if you dont need the game how do you complete the procedure

You can add extra layer of brick protection to your wii by installing the Indiana PWNS, Yo-Gi-VAH, and Yo-Gi-OWNED disc exploits onto your wii. These exploits can be used to load code should you ever be in a tight spot and need to use them. You can install them by first playing the game and installing the exploit save file, or you can install them without having the game with the method below.
    Process-
Extract your Savegame exploit HACK rbk file to sd:\
    Indiana PWNS
    PAL- Indiana_PWNS-PAL.zip
    USA- Indiana_PWNS-USA.zip
    JAP- Indiana_PWNS-JAP.zip

    YU-GI-VAH
    USA- YU-GI-VAH-NTSC-U.zip
    JAP- YU-GI-VAH-NTSC-J.zip

    YU-GI-OWNED
    PAL60- YU-GI-OWNED-PAL-60hz.zip
    PAL50- YU-GI-OWNED-PAL-50hz.zip

Load Nintendo Backup(250).iso.zip from disc or usb
The disc loads well with neogamma r8 running cios38-r17 via disc or wbfs usb.

    Select the restore option
restore your Savegame HACK rbk file

If the question is "do you still need an original/retail game" for SM 4.3, the answer is yes. At least a virgin 4.3, that is.
