ok so about to get my external hdd in and wanted to make sure i have everything rdy to format for my backups. am i understanding this correctly:

    use this thread? http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...g-playing.html

reason i ask is because im trying to verify this little nugget(see below) matches the hack i did from this thread. sometimes there's just too much info going on so its all too easy to overlook these things =\

**FAT32 USB Loading will only work with Hermes cIOS222/223 or with cIOSx Rev 19 or 20**

OR is this somethign I'll have to install separately as I now see in the "extra" section in that thread?

Except for 249, all of your cIOS's installed from this guide will work with FAT32. You should leave 249 as rev17 for non-backup apps.

im in another hdd thread and it had some good info. wbfs vs fat32. im really not partial either way. basically all im trying to figure out is which way to go about doing what i want to do with this system: play my backup games with no sd card and have my hbc apps and emulators/games on the one external drive. the thread i linked seemed to do all this no? other recommendations that might stick out to you from what I've mentioned?

WBFS used to be the best option, but now FAT32 is recommended.

Wii Drive Chip Database - Serial Number Estimation

Check there to see what drive you have, because you may have a incompatible drive with it being a year old (the incompatible drives started to be put into Wii's in 2009)
    Red 4.3E Wii, White 4.1E Wii BootMii-Boot2 & 1TB WD10EARS HDD for backups & Homebrew

Thanks to mauifrog for the guides, robgee789 for the sig/avatar, and to everybody else for a wonderful forum
