A quality guide there Mauifrog thanks, top geezaa
I bricked mine trying to get Call of Duty Black ops rolling got it replaced by Nintendo..
And your guide made the softmod process simple. Now with a Nand backup and updates blocked... Wicked!

The error i had was the lock on the SD converter was on so got a Fail (-1) trying to install bootmii.
Could not create dir, not an issue on the PC.
Would like to thank all who made this possible, TeamTwizzers, Wanin, Hermes, Wiihacks, Mauifrog
And all else who help keep the Wii scene SWiit Inner peace

    Talking

Wanted 2 say thanks again for this excellent guide! I've done it twice now, with SSBB and both Wii's work great! The only recommendation I have is to replace the WiiMC that comes in the AppPack with:

    WiiMC 1.04-WNC4.wad

I was unable to get the WiiMC that came with the app pack to recognize the hdd or exit properly on both of the wii's I modded using this guide. To exit I had to hold down the power button for 5 seconds. I've installed WiiMC 1.04-WNC4.wad on a 4.1, 4.2, and two 4.3's, and it's never failed. It installs as a channel, it's not a forwarder, so you don't need a boot.dol I've never had any problems recognizing the hdd with it, and it exits by pressing the "home" button. If you guys ever wanted to use this one instead, send me a PM and I'll be glad to send it to you.

I went ahead and uploaded WiiMC 1.04-WNC4.wad because a user PMed me and requested it. Here is the link for anybody else who wants to use this version of WiiMC instead:

    HELP NEEDED

I have installed the Homebrew channel and Bootmii. I'm on the next stage.

When I verify the files using md5summer it always says there are errors. It says "boot.dol - checksum did not match". Can someone give me some advice please? What is going wrong?

(This is using the Indiana pwns 4.3 version)

Re-download the package; md5summer is telling you there is corruption from a bad download.

    Ok. I have everything installed.

How to I run, saaay a .ISO file now?

I need a blank USB hdd, then it needs to be formatted to WBFS.
Then I use the PC to copy the ISO to the HDD.

    But... Then what?

I reformatted using the panasonic sd format tool linked at the first of this how-to et voila I now have hbc and bootmii installed...now on to the rest of it.

I followed this guide perfectly, to the end.

However, some games still don't work, for example WarioWare:Smooth Moves or Bully:Scholarship Edition. Any explanation as to why?

Also, as a side question, what app is the best to use when loading discs?

Do the retail copies work from the disc channel?

NeoGamma is usually best. The only downside is that it only allows you to use 249.

I want to thank you mauifrog for this excellent guide + all others that have responded in it. I read everything carefully and took it slow, since I'm a total noob when it comes to Wii. I followed the guide and everything seems to work. So thanks!!
