For what it's worth, this guide worked perfectly for me and I had never previously even seen a wii. There are a few things that are not 100% intuitive (I had to do some more reading to find out how priiloader works after setting up an autoboot I didn't like) but really it's pretty straight forward and easy.

I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to have a guide for dummies that really spells out all the functions and uses of priiloader, wads, cios, usb loaders, etc. Or maybe it's there and I just haven't found it yet...

    Thanks.
Neogamma is the best for most. The only downside is that it can't use any cIOS besides 249.

I was able to setup the cfg to recognize that the USB was being loaded from usb:\ which then allowed me to save my settings when I selected the game I wanted to play. I did this by changing sample_config.txt to config.txt. I feel lucky I was able to do this. But you were saying that I could config cfg to load fat on any ios except ios249, which means I wouldn't have to check each game before I play it? It seems like a minor speed bump knowing now that I can just change the IOS for each game.

Also, is there anyway to play games from other regions like PAL in .wbfs format, or am I only able to play games from NTCU being that I now have System Menu 4.1U?

    Thanks so much!

Use Configurator (SD:\usb-loader\CfgLoaderConfigurator.exe) to set the default IOS a cIOS besides 249. If it asks, say yes to the prompts when you first start Configurator. Then go to the Global Options 3 tab, check IOS (if it is unchecked), and choose a default IOS. If you set it to 250, then when you install a game it will be set to load at 250. You can customize the IOS for each game if you want.

If you install an out-of-region game, just force it to NTSC-U.

continue with the guide (don't forget to "format sd card" on the beginning of chapter3)
or just delete or rename the bootmii folder on the sd card.

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

now im done with the whole guide, i followed each step. but i THINK priiloader didnt install in the right way, so how can i check if everything went ok with priiloader or not.

IF i want to do the whole process again, should i use the same guide or should i take the other guide "softmod for any wii"? btw: i did downgrade my wii from 4.3e to 4.1e.

OR should i just install priiloader again?

md5summer.exe = PC application (notice the .exe)? It's to be ran on the PC to verify the integrity of the wads before moving it over to the Wii for installation.
