I converted an .iso to .wbfs, transferred the .wbfs file to the "wbfs" folder, turned on the Wii, and plugged the USB HDD into the back of the Wii. (This was the only way I could get the CFG-USBLoader to recognize the USB HDD) I attempted to load the game through the CFG-USBLoader when I received this error:

    ERROR:

    set_frag: -128
    ERROR: SetWBFS: -128

I have a Black Wii that came with System Menu 4.3U.

I guess I need to update to newer cIOS? Any advice on how to go about doing this?
You need to config cfg to load fat on any ios except ios249. Copy all the files from chapter 3 to the usb drive, and edit the cfg config to load images from usb instead of sd. It should be set to load ios250 in the config, but without the config it defaults to 249 which can't load fat.

Try to edit the settings in wiiflow to force your display, or set the display to that of the wii. Also perhaps the language, set it to that of the disc or the wii.

yea i remember seeing something about that in there. anything optional i dont think i did. just followed everything to the letter and it was perfect. extremely happy with my wii now bc of it. and just ordered a red passport to match the red wii, giggity goo!

what does downgrading the system menu actually DO for you then? (lazy question bc its like 1 here) also want to say ive read somewhere on here that its not the brightest idea to downgrade anything on a newer wii is more or less why i asked him in the first place

SM 4.2 and 4.3 implement anti HBC methods and add no features. SM 4.2 kills BB v1 and adds new region checks to discs. SM 4.3 kills BB v2. Downgrading to SM 4.1 restores BB v1 and BB v2 and removes the extra region check found in 4.2/4.3. These would not be used on a normal day, but having them provides more options in the event of a recovery, it also demonstrates your dislike for useless Nintendo updates.

mod + update pack all wads into one folder?

    Dear Mauifrog,

Fantastic guide! Already helped a friend with 4.3e wii and am planning to do my sister's wii on 3.4e. I got mod and update packages, can I just put the wads of the update package in the wad folder of the mod package? Forgive my ignorance but I don't want to take risk with other ones wii.

    Please advice.
