Ok I finally was able to get this working for my 4.1 thanks, and when I went to a friends house to get his working, he has a 3.3u I got everything installed and cfg loader for some reason takes forever to do the countdown and when its complete he gets the ret=-1 error message? what could I have done wrong, or is this just not compatible with his system to back up his games.

    any help would help thanks.

    Problems with Priiloader

I've gotten through all steps successfully up to installing priiloader.
After I run the install, and then re-boot the wii, it takes me right back into ModManager... I can't get out no matter what. If I try to exit to the main wii screen, it dumps me back into ModManager.

I'm a newbie here, and need a little HELP!

    Got it! Thanks!

Now my only problem is the USB loader... I get an error that says "Couldn't open file"
I'm hoping it's not an error with my installation, but moreso the fact that I'm a dumba$$ and haven't put anything on my external HD yet...

    Hopefully this is the case!

the loader will only start up if you have the hdd in there is a guide in my signature for usb loading make sure your hdd is compatable for the wii http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...lity-list.html if it is not on the list and it works let them know on the guide good luck make sure the hdd is pluged in on the left port

The HD is on there, but there is NOTHING on it yet... so I figure the "error couldn't open file" is because there are no files

probably the HDD is unformatted or not recognized. Try reformating the HDD or try another one. Check the HDD compatibility list.
Also I dont know if this is the case with newer base, but, have you made sure you stick the usb HDD on the outer usb port on the back of the wii? Other than that it could be a faulty cios, but most likely unformatted or unrecognized hardware, or not plugged in correctly

    Luigi almighty bot says
[1] SD/USB Loader Error: Hardware not recognized. Most likely have a cIOS installed incorrectly, out of date, or missing. Possibly formatted the SD card or USB incorrectly, is unsupported, or not enough space. OR Wad Install Error:Most likely you have cIOS

    Great Tutorial - Thanks!

I really appreciate making an all-inclusive somewhat-newbie-friendly tutorial. There were a couple places I wasn't sure what you meant, but after some searching - I found a video that went along fairly close to this tutorial (used this tutorial as a reference etc). Between your tutorial and the video (double checking both) it was a snap!

I have the 25th anniversary Red Wii which I just bought yesterday, upon buying it, I also purchased a 2 gig SansDisk standard SD card (conveniently Wii branded and found in the Wii section for 12 bucks). I then went to the nearest gamestore and picked up a used copy of the cheapest of the two (smashbros or indiana jones - for me it was indiana jones at 20 dollars).

One of the reasons I wanted a Wii was for Netflix. I wanted to put it in our spare room with the treadmill. When you are on the treadmill staring at a TV with nothing on it, its pretty boring, so I figured what better than a system that also has games to get you in shape. So the first time I did when I got it home is downloaded Netflix (and along with it some store update that I was afraid would break my ability to do this exploit, as some people on forums said it did). But, thankfully, it didn't and everything runs great!

I hit a snag in two places.
    1) I accidentally went to the SD card from the main menu instead of through the wii-settings, and copying the india jones save resulted in an error 004 instead. So if people are experiencing that 004 corrupted file thing, go through the wii-settings instead. It was my own fault, as I had misread it, but I'd imagine its a fairly common mistake.

    2) Since I was going back and forth between this and a video, the guy in the video skipped the priiloader and I missed it. So I had to go back in and add it later. Being new at this, I wasn't sure how to go about it. If this happens to anyone, you click the homebrew channel, and from there you will see the multi-mod-manager (so long as its on your SD card). Do not launch the priiloader link directly, you must launch multi-mod-manager first.

So, provided Priiloader does it's job keeping me from getting updates (I'm not sure what to do should that ever happen) - I am currently running smooth (I didn't downgrade, I stayed on 4.3 since it was optional) with Netflix, the Homebrew channel, and Configurable USBloader.

I have a couple questions now that everything is up and running and priiloader is blocking updates (EDIT - WHAT I MEAN IS, WILL PRIILOADER BLOCK UPDATES FROM APPLICATIONS LIKE NETFLIX AND THE STORE ETC - OR DO I STILL RUN A CHANCE OF AN UPDATE HAPPENING WITHOUT MY KNOWING?); Is there any harm in me running Netflix? Is there any harm in me shopping from the store? (I grabbed the web-browser after everything was done from the store as a test, and nothing bad happened, I realize now that may have been a risky test). If so, is there anything you guys recommend me getting from the store while I still can (before a new update prevents me from doing it?)? I'm new to Wii in general, so I don't know all the store's 'must have' items. Finally, if there 'is' something that is must-have from the store and I am not able to get it that way, is there another way to aquire it, and perhaps load it via an alternate method (SD card or USB loader perhaps)

    Thanks a ton for this!
