During a restore to get rid of triiforce and some other small glitches I came across 2 small problems. 1) if I put bootmii back onto my SD Card for contingency purposes it always boots up first, Is there a setting to force it to only start up if I hit a key combination/load it from the homebrew browser? and 2) is there a way to enable wiimote support in Bootmii? While I do have a gamecube controller handy I don't always keep it plugged in, and as such it does get annoying when I have to plug one in get around the first problem.

    1. Just put the SD card in your pc and rename the bootmii folder to whateever you like.

    2. No, but you can navigate with the power button on the console and the reset button to select an option.

Thank you for the quick reply. I just found another way to get around it that doesn't require me to take out the SD card. In the Bootmii folder there's a .ini file that contains options for Autoboot and boot delay. Open up that file in notepad or an equivalent and uncomment the autoboot option (remove the # sign at the beginning of the line) . You will have a choice of either System menu (abbreviated SYSMENU) and the Homebrew Channel (abbr. HBC). By default the system is configured to give you a 5 second wait time, but uncommenting the boot delay option and changing it to 0 fixes that issue. As far as the controller issue is concerned, I'll keep that in mind.

Sounds like MMM was not loaded properly

OK I have completed hacking my WII... However one part of the hack is a little confusing. In the following part:

Part 3- Install Priiloader (brick protection, you need this)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The guide says to enable block hacks. This I get no problem and did the 2 recommended hacks. However then the guide goes on to this:

If you don't know what the hack does- you don't need it.
Your wii should now block Disk updates and online updates.
    Select load/install,
If you want to autoboot USBLOADER, install USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder.dol
If you want to autoboot HomeBrew Channel, install HBC-Forwarder.dol
NEVER UPDATE YOUR WII FROM NINTENDO- read the forum and do it yourself
    Optional priiloader settings-
You can set you wii to boot the system menu, HomeBrew Channel, Priiloader, USBloader, and any other app you wish. Settings are found in priiloader, settings. Set the autoboot and return to what you like best.
Example: Set the autoboot and return to installed file, now your wii will autoboot to your USBloader or HBC- Excellent option for those with kids.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

I am having trouble understanding what the following is for in that:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Select load/install,
If you want to autoboot USBLOADER, install USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder.dol
If you want to autoboot HomeBrew Channel, install HBC-Forwarder.dol

    ----------------------------------------------

What am I installing here? After I installed the file nothing seems to have changed upon boot up. I can go into settings and change it in the preloader... but if HBC is already a boot option in the preloader settings... why am I installing HBC-Forwarder.dol?

Sorry ... but I am a noob and would like to understand so I know I did things correctly.

    Thanks!

I followed your guide perfectly by the letter but i have a problem currently with the MMM program. I just finished chapter 3 of the guide and whenever i start the wii it automatically goes to the MMM instead of the main menu and even though i press the Home button, it just resets and goes back to the MMM program... i hope someone can explain/help me with this issue.

Yes it is, and it looks like you did not.

Unless you installed the MMM boot.dol into priiloader.

Updated to 4.3, but still have Homebrew Channel, games won't work

    Hi,

My bro has updated to 4.3 to enable watching Netflix.

The problem is, the HB channel is still there. I can access is. However, when I try to load the NeoGamma, the screen just goes black.

My question is, I still probably have all the hacks on the Wii, since the channel is still there. Do I need to format the Wii to remove the HB channel and all the hacks that went into installing it? Can I use do this guide with the HB channel still there?

    Thank you.
