    Ok, so what I'd really like to do is have it autoboot the usb loader, return to the usb loader if I choose Menu from a usb game, but also be able to somehow get to the system menu when I want to. Is there any way to do that?

    Change AF1BF516 to whatever the channel ID is for your Cfg channel.

    But then wouldn't that make it go to the system menu whenever I choose Menu from anywhere (like a game--since that would be the return command?) I did just figure out I can set it to return to autoboot and I can get to the system menu by holding reset and going through priiloader. I guess that will work if there is no other way.

    Choosing Menu loads whatever you set to return_to_channel and choosing Reset loads your autoboot in Priiloader. Here is a setup I suggest:
    Autoboot: System Menu
    Return to: System Menu
    return_to_channel = DFCL <-This is the title ID of the most common Cfg forwarder, but it may be different for you. Check your wad file.
    home = exit <-Add this line to your config.txt file

    Your Wii will boot to the System Menu. If you launch Cfg, pressing HOME will return you to the System Menu or HBC, depending on if you used the Cfg Channel or the HBC, respectively. When you are playing a game from the USB Loader, choosing Menu will return you to Cfg USB Loader, and Reset will take you back to the System Menu.

    you drive is likely a newer one with a chipset preventing ANY burned discs being played on your wii. Find it out use the Identify your wii link in the softmod basics linked below, find it just under the hardmod/softmod sketch. There is also an Error Index available on this site for such numerical error codes.

    i get this

    Serial number: LEH10104926

    The Wii has a RVL-001(EUR) model number and is produced for the European market. The copyright year is 2006.

    There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-DMS

    is this the drive that wont read dvdrs ?

    also this is an exchange unit (just got 2 days ago) so could it have a different drive to when it was made ?

    so no indication from the serial No.
    but as you said, very very likely you now have a drive which does not correspond to your serial No / is one with an "evil" chip on it.

    Got stuck? -> Error index
