okay i just said okay to update (i know but at this point i really dont care if i have to buy another wii) and the update failed and appeared to be blocked

so i know have a half softmodded wii, that also cant play the game i just bought. but atleast its not bricked

when you all went to install the homebrew channel i get a screen with alot of writting then nothing happens i click the a button on the gamecube controller and the words reset show up and i go into the wii menu but have no homebrew channel. i was able to load an app using loadmii but it wont save and i dont want to do that process everytime. anyone have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.... or possibly another suggestion besides homebrew channel to id hate to do it but at this point i just want something to work right

okay never mind on the homebrew channel. did not know i cant have anything plugged into the bottom of the wiimote i had the classic controller. unpluged it and everything installed fine

i may be an annoying newb but i don't mind admitting my mistakes in hopes others don't do the same

just need a work around to update my wii without updating my wii. any ideas?

Just format everything on the SD card, and then manually add the apps? That's it?

A lot of people have this problem. Near the beginning of the guide, it says to backup your bootmii folder, and then restore it at the end. Most people forget to restore it at the end of the guide. If you do that you won't have to format your SD card.

Okay some people are getting replies in 4 minutes here….

What did it do wrong? Not enough info... the wrong thread… the wrong questions… I don’t understand why no one is willing to even broach my question.

    Here are a few reasons:
    1. Reply frequency depend on the time of day.
    2. Your post was long (not a bad thing), and sometimes people skip over long ones because they are too lazy to read. I am guilty of that myself sometimes.
    3. After a few posts, previous problems are easily forgotten. Your post was accidently left in the dust.
    4. You sounded like you might be a pirate.

Yea, I would look at the posts ppl are being helped with, and see if there is a way to make yours more like theirs. As far as not being a giant wall of text.

I did read these posts and found that more often than not they were asked additional questions so I tried to be as detailed as I could without adding pointless info.

Well thank you for at least replying.

I am not saying I am or am not a pirate for some things BUT my copy of “Force Unleashed” was definitely worth the 60$ I paid (retail at Walmart) and I love it; I just wish I could back it up and play it properly on the other Wiis in my house and wonder if it might have something in common with the fact that similar (recently released) games show similar issues.

Yup, replacing the bootmii files worked like a charm. Thanks

Copy any savegame file from your wii to the sd card, ensure that the wii can see it. The have a look at sd:\private
You should see that savegame in there, then ensure you also see the hacked save files as described.

I already started a new topic because I didn't notice anyone else having this problem but nightstah suggested I post this in one of the guides as well. My problem is the following: I deleted the homebrew channel from the Wii's memory because since I installed the homebrew channel as well as BootMii I have been experiencing games locking up. I decided I wanted to start from the beginning of the the process so I deleted the channel, which as of right now appears to be foolish because I cannot reinstall the channel by re-running the installer via the Smash-Stack hack. I backed up the SD card I was using on my PC and tried dumping a NAND backup I previously did but I get an error message that says the backup isnt for this Wii.

I formatted the SD card numerous times and tried using AnyTitleDeleter, as I cannot boot it using the Homebrew channel I read to rename the .elf file to boot.dol, copy it to the root of the SD card and boot it using the Wii system menu which also did not work.

Like I previously stated I looked around for similar occurrences to mine but couldnt find anything close to it
